AQ: If OH is miserable now, what will he be like when winter really gets under way??

Annette – This is as cold as it gets. Once winter rains start, it won’t be so chilly. It’s the clear skies keeping us frosty. I did point out he should be wearing the Aran jumper I knitted for him ages ago and he doesn’t wear to outings as it is “too hot”. I threatened to donate it to the dog refuge as bedding LOL.

    .

OG – Brilliant that you are getting outside. Slow and sure wins the day. I’m sure the car won’t be a problem when it’s time to face that.

    .

Heather – I’ve been complaining how hard things are getting as time passes. It’s not me, of course! Things are getting heavier, steps getting steeper, not to mention the childproof vandalproof packaging that defeats me. And then there are all the new words in our tech world. Grumble, grumble!

    .

Linda – Lucky you. Only one election. Our newspapers are well filled with US election, French election, UK election, and then there is the foreshadowing of our own state election next March.

    .

Seen in today’s paper. Apply this to whom you wish – Why do people with brains the size of a pea have mouths the size of a watermelon?

  • Annette – Some time ago you asked about my next trip. It is end of August, 2 days visiting marginal lands beyond Peterborough & Orroroo. Ruins & ghost towns such as Nackara, Oodla Wirra, Dawson, Ucolta, Black Rock, Walloway & Johnburg. Overnight at Roundhouse Motel in Peterborough, an old railway town. Visit to “Steamtown Sound & Light Show”. Maybe not much Google Streetview. Try here for our tutor’s pics of the area. The next interstate trip is to northern Victoria - Beechworth, Bright, Albury, etc next May.

  • AQ: Well, that should give me time to get ready. I'm still behind on  your last one and probably won't have time to catch up any time soon. Daughter is here next Monday through Friday and have managed to get another freelance assignment from the magazine - they lost two editors and now it's all hands and then some on deck until they hire replacements - from my experience, probably some time around Xmas!  My sister in the UK much prefers cold, crisp sunny days to overcast "warmer" ones during the winter.

Went to Tai Chi then into the aerobics gym, but cut short workout due to two people who were watching television and loudly lauding the Orange Menace's withdrawal from - well - everything that makes any sense. I put in my earplugs, even though I wasn't listening to podcasts but trying to read; still, couldn't drown them out!   Of course, the US is now in an exclusive non-participation club with Syria. The sort of good news is that many states, cities and quite a few large companies have committed to decreasing fossil fuel dependency.  I also heard that we can't pull out for 4 years, by which time we can only hope a real person with brain larger than a pea is in the White House.  (haha AQ!)

  • Good Morning, Everyone.  Sunny and bright here at present, but definitely 'fresher' feeling.

Love the names of the places in your itinerary, AQ, they do sound evocative of days gone by. Annette, I hope you have time to enjoy your daughters visit.

    Labelled "Perth Zoo"

  • Good morning, all.  Bright weather here so far, but showers later are a possibility.  No concrete plans for Saturday, and all getting off to a slow start.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Hi, OG - Hope you get chance to be out in the garden again today.

  • LINDY   Another lovely pic, thank you.

  • Not a happy bunny! Got a letter from ENT consultant today, saying that I hadn't paid him for private consultation in November, for my OH. I am more than upset. Have record of cheque paid, record of it being cashed and have phoned the bank, who confirm what I am saying. This is not the sort of thing that is needed when sometimes the smallest of things brings one to tears. GGGRRRRRR
