  • dinblib: Hope your cousin's OH can get things sorted out. What a difficult time for him (and her).

AQ: If OH is miserable now, what will he be like when winter really gets under way??

Lindy's report card Part 2: Demonstrates a keen facility for verse and plays well with others.  :-))

I see the Orange Menace has officially enrolled the US in the Flat Earth Society. He's quoted as saying "We don't want countries...to laugh at us anymore."  Ummm, Donald........you clearly haven't been paying attention.    Have told OH I will NOT be available to have dinner AND watch the news tonight; can't stand it.  He can record and watch it later. I'm sure we have some Mash reruns lurking on the machine...

  • LOL Annette.....Donald thinks we're laughing at his country, whereas in reality we're laughing at HIM!  We've been watching MASH this week, in the early evenings: they still make me laugh!! :-D

Lindy's Report Card used to say: "Linda is polite but quiet. She needs to apply herself to mathematics more."

Nowadays, it would be just the same, with "quiet" crossed out and "talkative" inserted instead!

  • P.S.  my OHs report would read "A pleasant child but easily given to outbursts, esp. when watching TV."

  • I for one am happy that Linda is now talkative!

  • Lindybird: I ended up watching some news this evening while cooking dinner. Talk about outbursts!  Fortunately, OH was pretty quick with the mute button; he was so exasperated he had a large glass of wine. I had two!  Then I went out to the garden and wielded the pruning shears.  Grrrrrr!

My report card invariably concluded with: Needs to try harder.

  • Diane: I guess the SpaceX launch was scrubbed until Saturday. Will try to remember to take a look. Good luck with that project.

  • Good Morning.  Local Weather Report: Dull & Grey.

For some reason, I feel as if it's Saturday today.  Why, goodness knows, as it's been a swift week. Hoping to drag my OH out to the DIY shop and also to look for some sandals for him.

Less than one week to our election! Will be glad when you can switch on the tv and not see some politician promising all sorts. Bah!!

  • Today's pic :

    Labelled "A Large Blue".

  • And I will add 'humbug', LINDY.

Good morning. Weather here not sure what it will do. The pavements are dry but the garden plants tell me that it rained during the night.

DIBNLIB- I hope that a solution will be found soon, regarding your cousin's care. I agree that a care home seems a bit drastic but remember that when visiting Sheana's my late neighbour I noticed some younger residents in the Home.

A lot of pruning of trees and shrubs required here. It will look like a forest by the end of the summer. Youngest son in law will help with the bigger things, thank goodness. I just keep wandering around - and the gardening manual is never far from my side! If my dear OH had any faults, one was seeing a space and filling it with something that ideally needed more space. If you know what I mean. He even attempted topiary, there are two privet bushes that he used to make into ball shapes.

  • Hi, all. This is a space post. If you're not interested, just ignore this. :-) I thought some might be interested because a European astronaut is coming home.
