As CLARACH 2R(13) from the DYFI Osprey Project has settled on the FCS Aberfoyle's main nest for the last week or so, it is probably best that there be a dedicated thread for Aberfoyle.
ABERFOYLE WEBCAM LINK - It operates between the hours of 09.30 am to 5.30 pm.
THE LODGE AT FOREST VISITOR CENTRE - Facebook Page where you will find current information and also historic info on the project.
Some history of Clarach's return to Wales - CLICK ON THE PHOTO TO TAKE YOU TO the excellent blog about her return.
Lets hope Clarach settles here, lays eggs and generally has a successful season.

hope she returns soon, it is quite breezy and chilly!
Just came to post the same 'egg home alone' snap, Karen!
Worrying, especially after a crow destroyed one of 5F's eggs at Glaslyn...
Tiger and Chloe's Osprey Info
As a friend just sent me an email regarding Aberfoyle, it got me thinking that you may like to see the area that CLARACH has chosen for her home,
I have included some photos I took from the screen in the visitor centre of the 2013 chicks, one of them gave Dave Anderson a right old peck in the arm as he was collecting them for ringing.

Thank you for the photos, Mary - it looks gorgeous there, wonderful scenery.
Wonderful photos thank you Mary. It really is a lovely area to choose, well done Clarach.

It is worrying Birdsong :-( I think, while all very interesting, it can be difficult at times watching a first time breeder as Clarach is and even more so with an inexperienced partner, as I suspect the male is.
Before Clarach took off, I noticed the male had returned to the nest mantling. He then took off and Clarach settled. I wonder where he is?
Edit: Thank you for the photos Mary.
Although egg is home alone at the moment, but then maybe she is just on the cam post and giving it a bit of air.....

then off again
It is hard on the nerves watching the "newer" nests but I try to tell myself that if it goes wrong then hopefully next year they will be better.
She obviously is around as she just landed on the nest, and has gone again.
When I see eggs left uncovered, all I think of is the egg at Glaslyn that lay on the rim overnight and then hatched into a lovely young Osprey, without looking back I do not remember which chick it was.
