The season so far:
Glesni (Blue 12) and Monty arrived back within hours of each other on 1st April. Glesni laid three eggs on the 14th, 17th, and 20th April. Currently both adults are taking turns to incubate the eggs which are expected to hatch towards the end of May.

Lynette, Yes, rather odd. Last year Monty would occasionally feed the chicks and rarely feed Glesni. But then, last year she would usually grab a fish away from Monty and immediately feed both herself and the chicks. Curious.
Kind regards, Ann
at least one was being fed but now Glesni is brooding again. Cuckoo in the background
Must go now. Happy viewing, Lynette and Everyone.
It's so good to see three chicks thriving here! I haven't encountered parents feeding each other before and it does seem strange when the chicks are calling.
In Lynette's last pic, one chick seems to have completely disappeared--I did a double take! You could swear there are just two of them!
Thanks everyone for captures and updates, Glesni brooding with Monty surveying his territory in the distance :-)....fish on the nest.

I am afraid that is just part of chick behaviour.
I was asked recently what the young age I had observed chick violence? I said day 1
