Our dreads were confounded and our hopes fulfilled when EJ the Glorious arrived at Loch Garten yesterday afternoon - heard before seen, but soon appearing below the nest, eating a fish and pooping like the queen she is. (Thank you, Jess, for that last-minute check out of the viewing slit!)
Thank you, thank you, EJ :-*
All that remains for a perfect world is... dear Odin, haste ye home!
IMAGICAT
Morning all. Thanks to all for the early posts, pics and vids. I have been watching since about 8am. Lots of to and fro-ing, nest cupping and looking out. Just wonderful :)
She flew off around 8.30 and hasn't returned yet. Perhaps she's fishing.

EJ's lands with a chirp. No fish, but perhaps some nest material.
She's off again.
Morning Moffer. What a lovely sight this morning! I guess we won't get a zoom until after 09.30 when the staff turn up, but meanwhile we can watch her pottering on the nest

A jay on the perch? Bit sure.
EJ has returned with a chirrup and possibly some nesting material. And then flies off , calling. Wonder what she saw
Morning Sheila. That Jay appears every time EJ leaves, cheeky! It was a very loud call, perhaps she was chasing it away.
I imagine she would chase off any corvid. That stunning jay will be keeping an eye on a bird who is much more dangerous than it.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
All very quiet at the moment. EJ has not yet returned, and the cam is still panned out giving a good view of the tree and lower branch.
10.20 The Pine Marten is still in the lower part of the nest!!10.21 She's back and the Pine Marten moves back into the nest
It can only be seen well on a vid.
Hi folks. I'm new to this site - been a real Osprey fan for years and have been following the birds at Bassenthwaite. It seems good to see this female back on the nest - I read she's been coming back for 15 years!! That's brilliantl.
Can you tell me if there is a webcam that I can connect to to watch live?
Many thanks,
Andy
