Hi Clare & Mike, thanks for the additional information. I have all winter to arrive at an opinion & may still be left unclear, the links provided will help.
Many thanks, Mary, for posting the beautiful photos of YD, and the Balgavies nest.

Darren has kindly made one of his superb photos taken at Aviemore Lochan into a Print, which he is giving away to one lucky winner. What a star he is, generous and kind too. What a man!

That is very generous of him, Mary, and what a lovely print too.
How lovely. Very generous and very talented.
Darren is at the loch now, he says only Green BF left with a fish in talons, no sign of any of the juveniles, looks like they have gone.
May they all have a safe migration and return in a couple of years time.
Darren's report from his visit to the loch today.

Oh dear, the season really is rushing to a close now. I wonder how many of our loved birds will be seen on migration or in their winter quarters now that more folk are going on holidays with their scopes and super cameras, with one eye in search of ospreys!!
It is always wonderful to see photos of known Ospreys in their wintering grounds Sheila, let's hope we see many more this winter too.

I have found nothing on any of the usual docs of this bird, but there was a CR6 who is a persistent intruder at Foulshaw Moss.
