The purpose of this thread is for recording the season’s day to day activity at the Manton Bay nest thus freeing up the Rutland Osprey Project 2017 thread for general news on all the other birds, nests and projects.
For anyone new following Manton Bay, Maya and Blue 33(11) have been the resident pair for the last two years and to date have raised six chicks. More details about the nest and a table of the breeding data can be found here. Last season Maya returned on the 21 March and Blue 33(11) arrived a few days later on the 27 March.

I am sure I speak for us all in wishing Maya and Blue 33(11) a safe journey home and for another successful season at Manton Bay.
Morning all - thanks for all the earlier updates
Maya waiting on the nest just now.
She has been trying to move that upright stick which seems to be annoying both of them. I think I saw 33 fly over towards the perch on the right so hopefully has a fish!
Fish :-)
33 lands with a fish (just as I am posting above) and holds it looking a little defensive. Didn't see anything around and after a minute Maya took it and flew off with it.

Morning KAREN Thanks for that Good boy 33
Morning Patily
33 didn't stay long! I am wondering if he is away for some nesting material while Maya is eating?
Maya has returned to the nest with the fish.
She leaves it at the front of the nest (on the edge by the bit of straw) and starts pottering about the nest
He went as far as the perch above the camera....
Hi Sandra ... this is your volunteering day if I recall right?
If so, great to hear from you ... how is the shift going?
