The purpose of this thread is for recording the season’s day to day activity at the Manton Bay nest thus freeing up the Rutland Osprey Project 2017 thread for general news on all the other birds, nests and projects.
For anyone new following Manton Bay, Maya and Blue 33(11) have been the resident pair for the last two years and to date have raised six chicks. More details about the nest and a table of the breeding data can be found here. Last season Maya returned on the 21 March and Blue 33(11) arrived a few days later on the 27 March.

I am sure I speak for us all in wishing Maya and Blue 33(11) a safe journey home and for another successful season at Manton Bay.
No it's got a ring.
Green 5N(04) - she's back and this is her old nest as she held it for a bit before Maya. She also visited last year and if I recall right, she nicked Maya's fish and was nicknamed the "Fish Buglar" LOL
Blue 25(10) - is another female back at Rutland and was the one who landed on the nest just after Blue 33(11) returned last year. Just thinking, although the ring looked Green, it could be blue and if so was it Blue 25(10)?
Empty nest now and it is chucking it down.
It was 5N(04) who visited the nest ... confirmation from Rutland
