The purpose of this thread is for recording the season’s day to day activity at the Manton Bay nest thus freeing up the Rutland Osprey Project 2017 thread for general news on all the other birds, nests and projects.
For anyone new following Manton Bay, Maya and Blue 33(11) have been the resident pair for the last two years and to date have raised six chicks. More details about the nest and a table of the breeding data can be found here. Last season Maya returned on the 21 March and Blue 33(11) arrived a few days later on the 27 March.

I am sure I speak for us all in wishing Maya and Blue 33(11) a safe journey home and for another successful season at Manton Bay.
Thank you Karen

SHEILA - you are an absolute Star for finding that blog, I gave up trying, and thought I may have remembered incorrectly. It's great to look over these older blogs and threads again, there is so much information to be got from them. Thank You very much for finding it, if our paths cross again at LG I will buy you a coffee or even better a cake :-)

So kind Mary!! I will hold you to that one of these days... but really it was down to Google and the right choice of words LOL

You must have had a better choice of words than me Sheila. I am sure I will be able to fulfill my promise, as there is no doubt we will both be there at the same time one of these days.
You are all set Scylla with your logo along your captures, so clever!
Glad both cams are working as I like my early sunrises at Rutland, have seen a few beauties over the seasons :-)
I'm sure I refreshed this page but I didn't see your snap, KAREN - my dual cams came up on auto-refresh so I had to re-set up the recorder and add on timeline, which took me ages :(

But still no sound on this nest. Does anyone know if it's deliberate - eg, for privacy of nearby humans?

You are so kind, Mary - but "I wish" ;-) It's just from years of googling and forumming and slogging.
I'll ask about that when I'm doing my shift in a couple of weeks time.

Thank you, Sandra. However, I'm not complaining, as Rutland (sorry, Manton Bay!) is the only nest that can share a screen with LG or any other osprey cam, as I can't have 2 on the same laptop with sound - screen-capturing software records from speakers so we'd have two soundtracks on each :o
(VLC is OK as it records from within itself, I won't go into it ;-) )
