HAPPY NEW WEEK!Hi, everyone. I chose this photo for the week because the Sandhill Cranes are migrating through my state on their way north to their spring nesting grounds. I like them a lot! I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Evening all: Off to AZ in the morning for a few days; will be staying tomorrow night at a motel just over halfway to Prescott Valley.
AQ: Don't know where we'd be without a car, especially as I'll be taking the SUV to AZ. Doesn't your electricity company have a customer service line? Sometimes they'll put on a recording saying they're having an outage in whatever area is affected. (I was going to suggest going online to see an outage map, but - yes - um....)
Clare: I didn't realize Limpy was disabled (is that how he got his nickname?)
Heather: What a nice surprise it must have been to find yourself singing. A landmark day! I can understand why your bro was so pleased. We are too!
Will have my laptop with me so will check up on you all tomorrow! :-)

His Community name actually comes from a neighbourhood crow we dubbed 'Limpy' as its right leg was damaged. We started following the LG nest not long after the crow appeared and when we wanted to start posting on the Daily Update our feathered friend's nickname seemed perfect for Limpy.
Hard to believe we've been posting on here for nearly five years!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
I want to say thank you to everyone for their support after the passing of my OH ... now the funeral is over I hope things may get better.
Heather I read what you said about the 'sharp painful grief' ... its exactly what I am going through now ... and it gives me hope!
I also wanted to say I will be thinking of Chris and Margo's family tomorrow.

DjoanS - I do hope that sharp painful grief eases soon. It's all part of the grieving process - but of course that doesn't help when you're going through it. As I said to Heather, there will be bad, sad times but hopefully, over time, they will lessen and better times will increase. My thoughts and prayers are with you, and with all those who are going through the grieving process.
Especially thinking of Chris and the family as they prepare for Margo's funeral tomorrow. May he feel uplifted by all the love and support from people here, as well as others who knew and loved Margo.
Pat. I have passed on your message.
Birdies LG DU update.
AQ - mine is still numb in part and also tender - maybe it could be my weight (not too overweight) but not light either.
Hi Annette. What a hoot at the Oscars, couldn't stop chuckling when I saw it on our news bulletin.
HeatherB - glad to see you are spending quality time with your brother before he returns. Hope you are keeping as well as can be. Pleased to hear that the immediate pain of grief is easing. Your brother's visit has done you good.
Dibnlib - Doesn't Benson like going just with OH or is it perhaps because you have treats with you he decides he will have a walk.
Managed a shortish swim today, and should manage another one on Thursday. Almost back in the routine of twice a week.

DjoanS - I'm sure things will eventually get back to normal and the pain will ease over time.
I take it the funeral for Margo is March 1st - will be thinking about Chris and family too as they say a painful goodbye but knowing that she is out of pain and with Him.
Evening all: Nice and easy drive today; now ensconced in the usual small but perfectly acceptable motel and avoiding the Orange Menace's address to congress which appears to be showing on all the television channels. Blech. On the plus side, I've got a Crunchie bar (one of many!) my niece sent me. Must confess I've brought about half of them to the rest of the family, who are Crunchie-bar fans (we can't get them here anymore).
Will be thinking of Chris tomorrow too.
Take care everyone.
Margo.
Ladies and Gentlemen
At 1.15pm today Chris will send Margo on her final journey. He has asked me to let you know that Lindybird's poem will be read at the Service and I post it here.
ooo O U R M A R G O B I R D ooo
Our Margobird is a music fan:She goes to the Shows whenever she can.Whether it's Tommy Steele, or 'Strictly Dancing' :In the aisles, our Margo's prancing! -Often she'll find she's stretched her elasticBusily doing the 'Light Fantastic!'
Next day, she knows her toes may hurtBut Margo relishes her swirling skirts,Singing loud to join in the songsEnjoying the music all night long.
She's told us of her Army days,And her love of the animals all -She tells us of the garden birdsAnd the friends upon whom she can call. The donkeys wait upon the land forTheir holiday treats from her fair hand.
Whether she's telling us of her faults,Or of her blogging glitchesShe has us all laughing, every day,And bent over, all in stitches. Her OH is a man who's kind: In him she has 'A Find' -She tells him of the ospreys' anticsAnd when she gets quite worried/frantic!
I could say more, but that's all for now,Stand up, dear Margo, and take a bow!The most popular member of our blogging team -We all love Margo, The Dancing Queen!
There is no doubt this poem gave much pleasure to both Margo and Chris in recent days and he particularly wanted Lindybird to know of today's arrangements. I have explained that she is away but I hope she will get the message.
Thank you Mary for your tribute.
As this was the thread for all the Margo messages I have continued here.
RIP Margo
As Margo loved Loch Garten and fulfilled her dream of volunteering there, it is only fitting to dedicate this opening thread of the season to Margo. Her kindness, love and passion for the Ospreys and all wildlife will never be forgotten, and she will be very sadly missed from the forum, like Brenda she posted on all LG threads, so I hope people do not mind me opening these threads for them both.
Thinking about Chris and Family today.
