  • Sad to read of Margo’s passing but happy that it was peaceful. My sympathy to Chris.

    .

DjoanS – My sympathy on your loss.

    .

OG – Great news of progress.

    .

As if Christchurch NZ has not suffered enough from earthquakes, now there is a huge bushfire on outskirts burning since Monday.

    .

I spent ages yesterday scrabbling through a long-forgotten desk seeking some family history papers. I found my first pay slip, some interesting photos, 2 cakes of soap (?), postcards, old travel diary, etc, etc, but not what I wanted. As it was getting late, I packed up by putting a very small amount into bin and shoving the rest back for another day. Later the brain began to function and I remembered where I had put papers; by then too late to do anything with them.

  • MARGO.RIP

I have just sent Chris all your comments.

Aquilareen. I'm afraid yours 'missed the cut' but I will include it tomorrow.

  • Just been catching up with all your news.

Firstly, my condolences to Chris and family at the sad loss of Margo, who went peacefully last night. She was such a loveable and cheerful person. RIP MARGO.  Thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

OG - lovely to hear from you from your hospital bed. Thoughts and prayers are with you and EE as you make steady progress. Do hope that you will be able to be transferred to your local hospital soon.

Mike thank you for keeping us informed about Margo and for passing on our thoughts to Margo.  At least she is at peace now and has joined her sister.

  • DjoanS - just read about your OH. Thoughts and prayers go out to you as you come to terms with your loss at this sad time.

Clare - read your post about Limpy, do hope that they get things under control for him and that he will be back to his normal self soon.   Stay cheerful and hugs and prayers are with you too.

  • Thank you Clare, for the really good picture of Monty. Very suitable. I do hope that Limpy is feeling better and will soon be back home, with you, Helen and all your birdies!

It's good to see how many really good friends Margo had made on here, and to know that she heard some of our comments even though she was too ill to read this thread herself, towards the end.

I was too rushed earlier to extend my sincere condolences to Chris, and to say I'm thinking of him and both his and Margo's families at this difficult time.

Rest in Peace, dear friend. I know that I'm not the only one who will miss your cheerful and enthusiastic comments, and kind concern for everyone else's welfare.

  • Oh dear, such sad news this afternoon. Although it was perhaps  not unexpected, I was so very sad to hear that Margo has died.  She will be much missed, and my thoughts are with Chris and the family.

My thoughts are also with Joan, on the sad loss of her husband.

Cancer is such a cruel disease.  There cannot be manymany of us who are not affected in some way.

Thank you Clare, for your good news on Limp's slow but sure recovery.

    Hugs to you all.

I still find that particular Dyfi thread a joy to look back through.

Our birds are really missing their Daddy!  As is Helen.  Helen gets to see him in hospital, though........not sure what they'd make of six feathered visitors.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • LOL!!  You'd have to smuggle them in, under your jacket, but the trail of dropped feathers might give it away!

  • Well, the trail of dropped something.

  • We went to see Daddy -

    Mum had a strange walk:

    She looked rather odd, and

    Let out the odd squawk.

    We held onto our beaks

So as not to cry out

    But when we saw Daddy,

    He gave a loud shout!

    Mum dropped her handbag,

    And gave it away -

    She still had the birdseed

    She'd bought yesterday..
