Hey, folks. In about 5 minutes, an asteroid is going to approach Earth and zip past us between Earth and the Moon. DUCK!
Watch live at Slooh Observatory.
Heather B said: I remember family favourites. I think Cliff was in London and Jean in Germany? Or, of course, vice versa ! It was on the radio on Sundays, I think, along with Billy Cotton's band Show. I seem to remember listening to it playing in the background while we ate our Sunday roast lunch.

My recollection exactly Heather !. I can still hear the signature tune for Billy Cotton's Band Show and his cry of 'Wakey Wakey'! Happy Days.

Whew, missed!
Hi all. Coming on to tell you the latest about OG.
Its been a 'diem horribilis' for her. She had arranged a rheumatology clinic visit to see if they could help. With difficulty and pain she got down our path and into the car to go. When we got there I had to use a hospital wheelchair between carpark and clinic in and out. Then when we arrived home about lunchtime she was both dozy and in pain and weak in her legs and arms. Trying to get out of the car, she fell forward into my arms and onto her knees in the car doorway. She had no strength to raise herself up, and I could not lift her back onto her feet, because her legs were too weak to stand on. A kind young couple driving past stopped to help, and were able to fetch a chair and a stool from our house for OG to lean on. They then called an ambulance, which came after fifteen minutes (depot only half mile down the road from our house. Medics took over and manhandled OG into sitting position (with screaming pain and then up onto their trolley and into the ambulance. Then then took her back to A & E at the hospital in Dumfries where we had just come from (with me following behind in our car)...
Oh, dear, EE.........How awful for you both. I will be thinking of you and hoping that she can be made comfortable tonight.
... We spent the whole afternoon in A & E (x-rays, blood tests, examinations and waiting) until eventually an orthopaedic doctor was called, and came with the information that a fracture of her left femur could be seen on the latest x-ray. Finally the decision was made to admit her onto the orthopaedic ward, where she arrived after teatime. She is now installed there for tonight with her left leg in a removable full length splint to immobilise the knee and femur whilst the doctor and consultant decide what repairs can be done. We should be told more tomorrow morning (before the weekend, we hope). If a knee revision can be done, it is likely to require a transfer to stay in the hospital in Glasgow for the operation. More news after tomorrow.
