  • I know politics isn't an overly welcome topic on here but I've got to share this story with anyone who would like to see less coverage of a certain Mr Farage in the news.  To say I nearly died laughing is an understatement!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Good Morning, All.  Windy here, already.

Started the day laughing, as hadn' t seen the moment mentioned by Clare.  I have the small narrow calendar, with Garden Birds.

Hope all goes well for Lynette at the hospital today.

  • Was sorry to hear that dear old Desmond Carrington has died - on the radio for 35 years!

And Dame Vera Lynn is 100 years old, and relasing a new record - why am I complaining about my knees?

  • Here's today's pic:

"I DO HAVE FEET AND A TAIL, BUT I PREFER IT IN HERE!"

She's amazing, isn't she?  Not too many singers keep their voices past 60 or 70, let alone 100.

  • HEATHER    yes, I had a cataract op on my right eye just over 3 years ago. the left eye now has a cataract developing, though not ready for op yet.

Had no idea Dame Vera was touching 100. What an amazing lady.

  • Apparently Dame Vera is 100 on March 17th.  The album is rather cleverly using previous recordings of hers, I think. With the addition of singers such as Alfie Boe.  If anyone wants to buy it, it will be titled "100" . She is one of those people who seem indestructible.

Dibnlib:  You are hanging on in there!  A friend of mine had a daughter who had lots of problems with her teeth, her eyes and her ears as a child. My friend said "She is fine, from the neck down, LOL!"  (The girl grew up alright, eventually....)

The wind has been gusting around, here. I know its worse elsewhere so hang on to your hats, everyone, especially those in the worst areas.

  • If you've been enjoying the photos I've been posting you really need to check out this thread.  There's some absolutely beautiful contributions from all over the Community.

  • Off to get a haircut this afternoon. Hoping to hear news from LYNETTE and OG. Also wondering how MARGO is doing.

  • Clare - some really lovely photographs on that thread.  Thanks for the link.  I particularly like the deep-sea diver/kraken!  Wonder where it is?  I am amazed how people can get such fantastic pictures - I even have problems with my almost-tame robin who poses beautifully but still looks fuzzy!  Perhaps I should just give in and enjoy other people's far better attempts.
