All you people away from the south east talking about 'mild' - it's been freezing here all day! When I got home just now the temperature was -1 ... I know I shouldn't moan, because at this time of year we are usually milder than anywhere else, and poor Scotland is freezing. Make the most of your mild weather, and when you've finished with it, please push it down to us!
Alas for cyclists (Glenelg to Victor Harbor), today’s expected max is 37 C. The race should be over before predicted thunderstorms & rain hit. This evening’s street party has been cancelled. Such a pity as food & coffee people & entertainers have been preparing for months.
Pat - I can't imagine -1. We have plenty of excess degrees. I'll give them away gladly!
What a shame, AQ - all that preparation.
Minus one degree or even lower, is when you can see your breath and your nose starts to feel numb. At least, mine does! I can only equate it with walking into one of those walk in fridges they have at the butchers. Not too bad if you're well wrapped up, but awful if its a cold wind at the same time.....

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Lindy - enjoyed looking at the historic figures and your
sunset, lovely. Love the picture of the pussy and the sloth with baby.
Hope it went OK with Limpy, Clare, with not too much pain.

Thanks for your news.
Off to the vets tomorrow morning with Misty . She has to have a checkup every 3 months as she has a thyroid problem and they won't dispense medication without one , although managed to wangle another month. Burns night supper on Fri. night at a local WMclub run by the church I go to. Always a pleasant evening even if it is 5 days early. Off for an Italian meal on Sat night for my birthday, just fancied it instead of an English meal. Always thinking of those who are having problems at present.
Good Morning, Everyone. Still dark here, but I think it's dry and cloudy again.
Upsetting to hear on the News that so many primate species are threatened with possible extinction, including of course the gorilla population. It makes me thoroughly ashamed to be human that it could come to this, when it's been talked about for years. -- Rant over!
Lynette - Have a good birthday meal.
Clare - I love beach huts!
Still thinking each day of Brenda and Margo.
Today's picture:
Heavy frost again overnight in this part of the world. Enjoy your sunshine, you people north of Watford!
