  • Heather- time for a wheelchair maybe? Just to help him out where it's difficult to walk. I don't know if a rolling walker with a seat could help. My OH used the walker in the early days and then had to use a wheelchair later on. I hope you get some answers from the Doctors.

Wishing the best for all who are having difficulties.

  • Busy day tomorrow, then away from Friday morning conference Friday, Dunfermline weekend then Montrose and Laurencekirk.  Home Monday night, so will hope to look in next Tuesday.  Take care, all, will be thinking of you.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Thinking of Margo.

    .

Heather.- Can you hire a walker or chair for a few days to see if they help your OH?

    .

    Annette – Poor Lightening.

    .

Dibnlib – I think there may be quite a crowd joining your next picnic!

    .

OG - wishing you a safe trip

Where has the week gone? I did nanny duty Tues pm. Twins were both (!) napping when I arrived, so Dau rushed off to shops before kindy pickup. I entertained myself by emptying dishwasher and then washing pile beside sink. Just as I finished MissJ toddled out to climb on lounge and sit quietly. I did same. I nodded off just before Dau returned. Laughing she said “Fine babysitter you are.” MissL slept on. Both littlies are now in “big girl beds”, MissL with a barrier as she tends to roll out. Very proud they are of their beds. When I was leaving, for the first time MissL clung and said “no, no”. Usually it is MissJ who wants me to stay.

  • Have a great weekend,  The icing on the cake will be seeing your great grandchild. Don't forget the pink teddy. X

  • Margo is, obviously, still very upset but she and her niece did share some amusing moments. I am sure she will share them with you.

AQ, Your babysitting doesn't sound as hectic as you have described in the past. Lovely that MissL didn't want you to leave.

  • Safe journey OG. Hope you enjoy your various visits, and give a cuddle to your great grandchild! Edit:  Glad you had an enjoyable concert.

Brenda - Glad that Margo felt well enough to talk to you.

Heather -  Thinking of you both.

AQ - Your babysitting has got easier, thank goodness!  Children are always very proud of their 1st "Big Bed".

Must get to bed, it's been a busy day here.

  • OG: Have a lovely and safe trip!

AQ: Sounds like things aren't quite so fraught with nanny duty. Is your daughter doing better now the twins are older?

Heather: I was also wondering if a walker would help - would give your OH something to lean on while he maneuvers round the house.

Hi to all; now off to sort out some green beans...

  • Thinking of USA at thanksgiving.  To those who are celebrating, have a good weekend.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Ditto from here, OG!

Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions regarding OH's mobility. I have been hiring a wheelchair from Able Care for outside trips like hospital visits. Regarding walking aids, I have been advised to wait until OH is professionally assessed for balance and mobility, rather than rush out and buy something that I might think is a good idea but could be the wrong thing, entirely. So we stagger on! Pardon the pun... The garden walk was not a good idea but OH wanted to inspect the greenhouse. The path is crazy paving, not perfectly flat and not terribly wide so he felt very unsafe. We won't be doing that again. If OH's balance doesn't improve, if his brain doesn't take over the balance functions of inner ear, then we have some thinking to do regarding adaptations in the house and garden.

It is frosty here today. Youngest son in law was going to drive in from Elgin, to allow me to make a bank visit, but he has been sent off on a job at short notice. Eldest daughter has a day off tomorrow so will come here.

    Take care, all

  • Hello, All.  Been busy - got up early to ferry my Friend and her OH off to the Station, to catch a train for her special birthday trip to London. They're going to a Show, having a posh dinner, then on Saturday having Afternoon Tea in another posh hotel with their daughter & husband, then going on the London Eye to see the city resplendent in the dark. I asked for a full report on their return, including foodie details!

Yesterday we had a long awaited visit to the cinema, to see J K Rowling's "Fantastic Beasts & How to Find Them".  It was very good, with fabulous CGI effects, and a fast moving story. Well acted by Eddie Redmayne, and some familiar faces dotted amongst the cast. Set in New York, in the 1920s, so should be popular in the USA.
