  • Good morning.  Quiet weather here too - and less frost on the grass - hard surfaces are dry, so no ice.

Morning at home, then lunch and a (matinee) concert in Langholm - hope to take the scenic route in the sunshine!  Scottish and Irish traditional music, and fun, I believe!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Good Morning. A dry morning here, but some light rain forecast and the wind will increase.

Dibnlib, I hope you will be able to have your dental implants. I would not join you at a Thai restaurant though, I really don't appreciate that kind of food.

OG, Sounds a good concert. I am sure you will enjoy yourself.

Linda, A good day for the hairdresser. It is not raining.

I will be talking to Margo later. She had her three units of blood yesterday.

OH left at 7.00am this morning for an appointment at East Grinstead Hospital. A friend insisted that he would take OH today.

OH's new medication for his reflux didn't work and caused dizziness, so he is back on his original treatment until GP hears from hospital consultant again !!!

  • Heather, I was thinking of you and your OH this morning. There were two people being interviewed after the success of their cochlear implant operations.

  • Hello all

Yes, BRENDA - we did the watch the programme about the cochlear implants. Amazing results, especially for the young Mum.

ROSY - Yes, I do remember the cleaning (and occasional mixing up) of the dentures. Eventually a marking system came into fashion. By that time I wasn't involved with cleaning things. Also remember scrubbing horrible red rubber mackintoshes that went underneath draw sheets, which were also quite the thing in those days. The life of a junior nurse had much to do with cleaning things, didn't it? We had to do damp dusting every day.

DIBNLIB - Hope all goes well with your dental treatment.

ANNETTE - Poor old Lightning. As someone said - animals know when it is their time, I think.

    OG - enjoy the concert/show!

I've been chasing up OH's physio assessment. It had gone to the wrong hospital. Goodness only knows how less physically/mentally able or older folk manage. Just sit and wait patiently? I don't do patient waiting, I'm afraid.

We have just walked down to the greenhouse at bottom of garden. Two sticks and me holding on to him for dear life and still he was staggering about, saying 'This is hopeless'. Poor guy.

Sorry for missed replies, doing this from memory.
  • HEATHER Sorry that things are os difficult for you both.

I had a lovely long 3 hour walk with a friend and her Sporgi!!!  Unbeknown to me she had made us up a packed lunch, so we sat on a log and enjoyed parsnip and apple soup, follower by salmon and cucumber sandwiches and a satsuma. It was cold but a beautiful blue sky.

  • Heather, So upsetting to read about your walk to the greenhouse. This is the same man, who not so long ago, loved to go fishing and never had second thoughts about climbing a ladder. Good for you, tracking your OH's physio assessment. Life is not kind to you at the moment. Hugs to you Both. X

  • Dibnlib, What a fabulous lunch / picnic. You have a lovely, thoughtful friend.

  • Heather: Sounds like it's difficult all round. Hugs to you....

dibnlib: Can I come along on your picnic walk next time? Sounds lovely.

  • Thanks, DIBNLIB, ANNETTE and BRENDA. We will soldier on, as you do! Always positive, well me, anyway LOL.

  • Dibnlib - walk sounds great, with added picnic.

Heather - so sorry to read how bad things are for your OH.

Margo - hope the transfusion kicks in quickly.

Had a great afternoon - such fun and musically brilliant!  Drove home as the sun was setting.
