Hallo all. Off to eat pizza and drink wine. Back later.
Hi Heather: I am busy editing lots of photos of the grandchildren taken recently, so that I can boast to friends.
Great that you will finally be able to get at the oven for a roast dinner, it will seem more like "normal!" I know its very discombobulating when you come downstairs and the kitchen is not the one you're used to! My Friend had granite worktops and they were very very expensive (she likes the best!!) but I must say that the effect is spectacular. She also had a lovely ceramic Belfast sink put in, but within two years it looked very grey and stained, and there was no way to brighten it up - she's now had it replaced with a stainless one.
My worktops are cheapo ones and its beginning to show - just shows that you get what you pay for! Surprisingly, its my OH who is now clamouring to change them, he says he hates the way they show scratches etc. and so I expect he will do it next spring. (Edit - he also hates our stainless sink, so watch this space!)
LINDY- We decided on a stainless steel sink, but if I'm honest, our old one ( Franke) was better quality. Our newish neighbour, in Sheanas house, asked if she could have the old one. Thirty years old and she still wanted it....
We had a Franke stainless steel sink put in when we re-did the kitchen about 8 years ago. We have very hard water and it sure leaves spots. We have granite counter tops too - dark colored, lovely, but I keep missing sticky spots that sometimes of blend in with the pattern. It's a great camouflage for ants too, but we haven't had a problem with those for while. :-)
No ants here but I'm sure that there will be sticky spots!
Sticky spots
Left by pots -- tea stained rings,
And other things
- - These are sent to try us.
Bitty crumbs, and prints, by thumbs
Soggy cloths - marks from moths!
Splashes, left from fry-ups.
All these will, in time be found
In any kitchen, I'll be bound :-)
Very good Lindybird. :-)
Ta!
Off to bed, now. My eyes are almost crossed from looking at too many photos on screen, today. Goodnight All.
