HAPPY NEW WEEK! HAPPY NEW MONTH ON THURSDAY! HAPPY NEW MOON ON THURSDAY, TOO!Just to cheer everyone: Here are some cute wild raccoons ("trash pandas") that were playing at the Nature Center at the Turkey Run State Park just down the road from me. There are several pics. Everyone have a wonderful week!
Youngest SiL' s sister lives in Bay of Plenty, NZ. They have had Tsunami warning but nothing much happening yet, I believe.
Sorry, no chat! Just busy with kitchen renovations but have read and enjoyed all your posts.

ChrisyB: Good luck with the gin production. I tried to make wine once many years ago. It was ghastly!!! Tasted like vinegar and kerosene. So my hat's off to you. :-)
Ha ha, Diane, you are right, not every gallon of wine was good, some were so-so and a few had to be thrown out. Some were more tricky to get right than others, Damson wine and also Elderflower were favourites.
Thanks for the Space links you do for us, always interesting.
The YouTube link provides a better view. I've now read that those rockets are heavily protected from lightning. Some people posting in the comments on several articles also saw the "object" or "flare" coming from the right at the top of the vehicle before the explosion.
ChrisyB: I'm pretty sure that all of my homemade bottles of wine would be awful! LOL Well done to you!
Diane: Yes, I was reading that the satellite was to improve internet coverage to Africa, etc. Such a shame - I gather that SpaceX has offered to relaunch another at a reduced price (big reduction I hope!) That video is dazzling - interesting the way it explodes but then the sound of the top part hits the ground. Also somewhat surreal to see the black billowing cloud and hear the birds near the microphone singing. I couldn't make out the path of the explosion. Did you run it in slo-mo?
Heather: Those aftershocks are coming thick and fast in NZ. Didn't see any tsunami warnings issues by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center
Some Tsunami action - but only 8 inch wave, apparently.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Hi OG, How are you? hope you had a good holiday.
Small wave for big earthquake...
Linda - Happy Birthday. (Belated wishes always extend the celebrations, sez I.)
.
Margo - Great to see you so chirpy.
Diane – Ross River virus is endemic to Aussieland & S Pacific Islands.
Reports that only minor damage (houses cracked) from NZ earthquake.
I am returning to city today as there is a rally to protest 20% cuts to library staff. This after cuts last year!
We watched a program other night that mentioned underground railway in New York to save 40 mins. Hm, we have an expensive short bus tunnel through parklands to city that will save a mere 7 mins.
