Happy New Week! We’re back – Son is ok. He was facing a court appearance re an allegation against him, but in the end did not have to appear and is in the clear. Not a nice experience.
Been to LG and LotL – and got new long lens for camera! More tomorrow. Thanks for all the support – so pleased to be back here with you all!!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Looking at Tobermory again, reminded me I stayed in a place along to the far right of the row, not in the picture, and the breakfast room backed onto the steep slope but they had a large picture window and several bird tables and feeders so it was entertaining to watch the birds with breakfast!
Oh, I meant to say to TerryM, glad you had good sightings at the viewpoint, - hope Alan has been already as the weather seems very wet today and with not a good forecast!
Evening all: Gosh. Lots to catch up on!
Diane: New TV is a Panasonic Viera - got it at Costco (where you get an extra year warranty just for buying it there). We were only looking at Panasonics, Sonys, and Samsungs. I do have to say it's a real pleasure, even though it seems a tad decadent!
AQ: Sorry your library trip was for nought. Re immigrants, it's always the last group to arrive that catches heck from the previous batch. Funny old world.
dibnlib: Stay well for your trip next week. Enjoy your fleece and shells (though hope you don't need them on vacation). Fiddle Orchestra sounds lovely.

OG: Took a couple of sad-looking bits of orange tree to local nursery and was told to feed on schedule and do deep watering every three weeks. I fed it about a month ago and am apparently too impatient re expecting results. Oh, okay - strimmers sound like our weed-wackers and edgers combined into one. Have a good trip - you deserve a nice break! I too was wondering how Alan was doing, weather-wise.

Lindybird: I've been to Llandudno - when I was 11. I remember the castle; also watched an amateur outdoor talen show where a little girl sang: "My name is Jenny Morgan. I come from Llandudno. My father's a farmer and my mother can sew" to the tune of The Ash Grove. Don't know why that stayed with me; probably because she was about the same age as I was and we learned The Ash Grove at school. Lovely photos. It's lovely the way they've painted all those buildings such pretty colors - the same in Ireland. When I was there a few years back my sister was saying how much cheerier they were. I also loved all the baskets of flowers everywhere.
BrendaH. I remember Dixon of Dock Green - was that Jack Warner in the title role? I suspect we're all charter members of the "Lost the Plot" group! :-))

Dibnlib - I have to display my ignorance. I know what fleece & shell are, but what is a buff? "In the buff" means no clothes but it can’t be that. LOL Your tour of nthn SCT reminds me of my travels there. I did a bus tour to bird cliffs at Duncansby. I also wanted to see the scenery on the west and as there was no tour to Durness I took the local bus there and back. It poured with rain but was a great day. More memories stirred by OG (Beauly), Lindybird (Wales) and DjoanS & ChrisyB (Ireland). Delightful colours on those buildings, never the same, and always so fresh-looking. Margobird you are not losing the plot. You are just oh-so-busily occupied with the osprey world.
I collected m-o-b outfits this morning. I had warned Himself that one was bright pink (well, medium pink) but all he said when I returned was "Strewth". Now I must keep tummy roll under control. Wee bit difficult these cold nights watching Tour de France so late. I get hungry watching them exercise!!!

1. Teamwork means never having to take all the blame yourself. 2. Indecision is the key to flexibility. 3. Succeed in spite of management. 4. Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups.
Like #3! And don't get me started on #4.

Morning, All: A bit damp here today, as its rained a lot in the night (hooray!). More rain promised later, and the Weather Girl on TV said cheerfully "Its St. Swithin's Day, which traditionally means 40 days of rain if it rains today - & last year, it did!"
Lots of laundry to do & then out to lunch today with Friend, who wants to spend money in shops so I'm going as a spectator. Enjoyed all the chat yesterday, & pics.
Loved AQ's workplace Rules - could add a few, such as
When you open a window, it is always next to the person who says "I don't like draughts"
If you only drink tea, everyone says cheerfully "We only have coffee here"
The busiest person in the room is always the one who has to answer the phone, even though they are the only one doing anything else at the time it rings.
If you stop to ask a colleague if they had a nice time last night, that's the only time the Boss walks through the office.
When you join a new group of people, it is always someone's birthday so you contribute to the whip round & never see that person again in your life.... when its your birthday, everyone forgets....
Could go on, and yes, I worked in offices for years & it has all happened to me!

Yes, my avatar is a picture of my dog. Sadly I had to put her into the long sleep very recently and I miss her dreadfully. She was my closest companion for 15 years. She went everywhere with me ...even to LG and waited patiently until it was time for her turn to walk in the woods.

Morning All. Wet and very windy morning. Gust of 50mph forecast for the Channel, in July !!
I was also thinking of Alan in all that rain. The lakes are beautiful, but not the best place in very wet weather.
We will be meeting our daughter for lunch today and then a look at the shops before she is on night duty. She has also sold her flat and has found a new one, so wants to go through all the paper work and finances with us !
I went to look for new dresses for myself a few days ago and came back with new bedding for our bed, but no dress. I haven't quite worked out the logic of how that happened.
