Weekly Chat Sunday July 11th

Happy New Week!  We’re back – Son is ok.  He was facing a court appearance re an allegation against him, but in the end did not have to appear and is in the clear.  Not a nice experience.

Been to LG and LotL – and got new long lens for camera!  More tomorrow.  Thanks for all the support – so pleased to be back here with you all!!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Oh yes dibnlib ... Tobermory ... I was there a few years ago ... Balamory land isn't it?    :-)

  • I'm sure people on here will have better pics but here is one from when I stayed there 3 years ago.

  • Dibnlib - Penguin Island is on BBC1 at 19.30hrs on Monday 19th July, but as you surmise it is already available on iplayer.

If you have time next week after your visit to Eden Court could you put your opinion of the show on here - I am going on the Thursday night and have to say i am looking forward to it.

  • Hi folks.  I've had a busy few days and just now caught up on all the posts.  Loved the various pics.

    dibnlib Fingal was very handsome.

OG Belatedly, I'm so glad your son's problem was sorted out.  What a terrible worry for you.

Everyone else, I've read your news with interest but am hopeless at remembering who said what!

We had an item on our local news this evening, from St Andrews.  If the haar doesn't lift the golfers will have difficulty finding the holes!  We have an interest in the Open as 3 golfers from NI (Rory McIlroy, Darren Clarke and Garth Maybin(?) are taking part.  And of course we haven't quite got over Graeme McDowell winning the US Open!

  • Hi all – loads of Goldfinches here today (all ages) and even Greenfinch with two young.  OH thinks he may have seen and heard a Linnet.  Haven’t seen the tailless pigeon lately – maybe a cat got the rest of him!  Dreich, dark, dismal, dreary this evening – I hope Alan is having it better over the water in the Lake District.  Been baking biscuits to take north – had to test one, of course!

Dibnlib – Rocpool looks pricey – have you had another Ernie win?!

Lindybird, DjoanS, ChrisyB – great pics of Llandudno (cable car not for me either - I once walked up while my in-laws went on it), Alliehies (never been to Ireland) and Tobermory (haven’t been there either, but Gdau#2 was taken to see “Ballamory”).

Patriciat – good to see you again, I hope all is well with you and yours.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Lovely pic of Tobermory, ChrisyB .  (I've not been there)

patriciat:   Don't blame you for celebrating Graeme McDowell's wonderful win!  The golf should be good at the Open this year as its not certain this time, that Tiger will inevitably win. Could be anyone!  (sorry USA! :-)  )

Have been  watching the cute penguins in Australia,  and apparently its the 1st of 6 programmes.

Have to go & finish making a birthday card for a Friend's 94 year old Mother, I made the card 3 weeks ago, but now its The Day on Friday, I have to finish it off by making the insert  (which is the bit that goes inside!!) - I keep finding something else that needs doing but now it really must be done.

Can't  remember what else I was going to say so must now join the Club of people on here who don't know what they're doing...  my children would say  "so what else is new  ?"

  • Hi OG :   Home made biscuits - oooh.  Send just one over here, I'm so hungry on this diet!

    ps.  Have a good trip!

  • LIZ    thanks for that, I will wait till Mon then I can watch it on a 32ins screen.

Will make a note to let you know about the show. Check Tues eve posts as we intend to leave for the north pretty sharpish on Wed am

  • PATRICIAT   OH has put his money on Justin Rose, but it was a toss up between him and Rory McIlroy

  • OG    We opt for the 2 course lunch at £12.95 which considering the quality of the food we think is great value. I had a duck and avocado salad with a wonderful dressing followed by lamb kebab on a cous cous mix and every mouthful was delicious We very occassionally eat a la carte and although not cheap, we don't think it is overpriced.
