Happy New Week! We’re back – Son is ok. He was facing a court appearance re an allegation against him, but in the end did not have to appear and is in the clear. Not a nice experience.
Been to LG and LotL – and got new long lens for camera! More tomorrow. Thanks for all the support – so pleased to be back here with you all!!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
One last Universal Law from Dau's list . . . but I have found some office rules.
The Starbucks Law - As soon as you sit down to a cup of hot coffee, your boss will ask you to do something which will last until the coffee is cold.
Office rules - Rule No 1: The boss is always right. Rule No 2: If the boss is wrong, see Rule No 1.
Hi all! I was at my mum's most part of weekend, she had "a home holiday" from hospital to try out if she can manage things with everyday life. Everything went fine, just some lacking of dexterity with her left hand fingers, so she will be discharged in couple of days, But because she was just on leave, there had to be someone there with her all the time, I had my laptop but didn't had time to actually watch the nests, only read quickly some of the comments - thank you all! Of course missed the maiden flight but thank heavens there are YouTube-clips :)
OG, I am so happy that things turned out well :)))))
Diane, glad there wasn't anything expensive wrong with your car. And so happy for that fox, I have always loved them!
HeatherB, smoked salmon is my very favourite dish
Welcome Cathie :) Hope to see you here more
And of course welcome to this site too Quietwoman. I'm so with you 'bout Roy Dennis. Love his book and was totally surprised this spring when we had a really strangely looking osprey visiting one of the cam nests here in Finland, and I @mailed some pics to him, and to my surprise he answered me the same day and absolutely friendly style too
In this nest eldest is two days younger than LG's #3
Have a nice day everyone!

AQ, what a funny looking duck(?)
Hi AQ and Auntie: I'm off to bed in a minute.
AQ; I really am going to have to look up Peter James. How nice of you to scout wedding photo locations. Will the duck be invited?
Auntie: Good to hear your Mom is coming along and will soon be back home. Gosh, all these osprey chicks are beginning to look awfully similar!
Just watched the latest Hercule Poirot (Murder on the Orient Express) program on PBS's Mystery. A bit slow but not a bad way to end the weekend. G'night all. Take care.

Her mate is even funnier. But I shall wait until I have identified them before posting pics. So glad your mother is improving. Slow and sure, but her recovery will speed up when she is back in her own home.
Morning, All. Dull here but no wind, so we are off out for the day today. Not many days left to go wandering without all the schoolchildren being off school for the summer holidays.
Last night I put a poem (which actually, doesn't rhyme) on the Poetry Corner thread, about the fledging, for anyone who likes that sort of thing. You go to Community Central Pages, then 'Poetry Corner', then the thread is called 'Osprey Poems'.
Here is the Monday Smile: it is a quote from Anthony Burgess who is a British novelist (he died in '97)
"Laugh, and the world laughs with you, Snore, and you sleep alone..."
Have a good day.
Morning All, Very heavy rain overnight with thunder and lightening. More still forecast this morning. So much cooler right now. The garden will definitely appreciate all the rain.
Linda, I will go and look for you poem. Enjoy your day out.
We will be attending our neighbour's funeral later this morning.
Hope you all enjoy your day.
Hope the funeral goes OK, Brenda, if you can say such a thing. I'm sure your support to the family will be appreciated.
I'm off too, walking up to Bassenthwaite upper viewpoint. Scattered showers forecast so I hope they miss Keswick.

Lindybird, you know how to pull the heartstrings don't you? Lovely poem as always.
