Welcome to a new week. Hope ALL the familiar faces will show up this week! :-)
Go back to page 8 of the previous thread to see Mike's link to the question: How do you free a Golden Eagle caught up in a very high tree without the use of a ladder? Page 9 shows Bowie posing for his closeup. OG and EE are busy shooting at cats and cheering on Housemartins in the midst of home repairs (the birds that is).
Brenda: Well, there always seems to be one lavender bush that I missed! I have to tidy them up and take off all the dead blooms once during the summer, then in the winter, I whack 'em all back by a third. Trouble is, they're all getting old and woody.
OH and I bought tickets to a concert tonight - Jean-Yves Thibaudet is playing Rhapsody in Blue and since the Music Academy is hosting the show, the tickets were super cheap. But now we're looking at each other and thinking we'd rather stay home in our comfy togs and relax. But no. Must hose off and rise to the occasion.
Was amazed that Djokovich got knocked out at Wimbledon so early. Shocker!
Have a good Sunday everyone.
#GrowingUpScottish is trending on Twitter at the moment. It reminded me of playing 'Pinner' in Dundee.
The Rules of Pinner
The Weekly Chat won’t be the same
If Lindybird has quit the game
And where has Heather disappeared?
We miss the blather we all shared.
So please come back and join the Chat
We promise we won’t mention “THAT”
Let politicians do their worst
Life goes on, be it blessed or cursed.
OK ANNETTE, I give in!! I was silly, impulsive and probably childish even at my advanced age. Lost the plot entirely and was impolite. I have missed the chat. Over the past few days have thought 'well, I must tell the guys that' and then realised the status quo.
YAY!!!!!!! Great to see you, Heather!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Great poem, Annette. That means we can look forward to your continuing to post on here even if you get a President Fart.
Fantastic poem Annette and really great to see you back Heather. This lurker has missed you.
Kind regards
Jenny
Yay! One down; one to go. :-)
Heather: Soooo glad you changed your mind!
Clare: I shall announce open season on the US elections!
Great poem, Annette!
I saw that OG had hedgehogs in the garden, and a couple of weeks ago I had one in mine, never having had one before! My garden is too small for it though and surroundings not really suitable so I took it to a friend who lives not far away and has a nice large and rather wild garden. I hope she may hear it sometime, as they can make quite loud noises!
Welcome back, Heather.
.
Food shop excursion this morning with OH trailing. I used shopping trolley as a walker and found everything on list, including Tim Tams (choc bics) as a treat. OH didn’t believe I could do it but I feel fine. Each day I only attempt what I think I can do. So different to previous knee. Late nights ahead as Tour de France is on TV from 9.30 pm to 1-1.30 am. I enjoy the scenery.
We had our federal election last Sat. No result yet. Probably a hung parliament. We have compulsory voting, so they have to wait for postal votes to arrive for counting. Ho hum.
4TH JULY - HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO ALL IN THE U S!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
