Yesterday was a thundery day of plenty, after a slow start (leftover whale on nest) and some horrible aggression, Goliath on David. I think Fergus's suggestion is perfect (notwithstanding the pronounced genders) until the official names are decided on.
Having slept thru a lot of it, please see CC's summary (link to follow).
However, I thought that the "mystery bird" could do with demonstrating prominently, as a number of us have missed previous IDs.
Male and female cuckoo - he seems to be modifying his call with "pop-ups", and she is the "bubbler":
Here is the thunder that didn't bring on a storm, thank goodness; then Goliath exercising her maturing voice and then enjoying a couple of poops:
EDIT - And this is the male cuckoo with echo-cackle - is that him or another bird?
IMAGICAT
She tried to snuggle her two babies:
But #1 was soon getting up:
For its fave pastime - but resultant material was glitched out :-(
Contentment:
A decent one by #2's standards :-)
Good Morning Scylla
Thank You for starting us of yet again and for all your overnight posts, pics, videos, it is always nice to come on in the morning and see what has been happening already :-)
Thanks to CC for her summary and posts, pics etc too....
I am getting "An error occurred" when trying to like posts, so will go back and try later.
As each day passes David will grow into a Goliath then we don't need to worry so much about them knocking hells bells out of each other.
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
Yikes have over done it on the contrast on that last snip LOL......
Its like its shouting wakey wakey!
#2 is getting lighter but the head still has some way to go before it's easier to see:
I'm afraid that #1 may be getting aggressive again... Ok, all right for now.
EJ's got up.
Chirp from EJ.
See what I mean about #2's head?
FISH @ 0525hr !!!!!!!!!
Odin arrives with fish and it is a biggy!
Couldn't get a decent snip of the size of it. Scylla will have it :-)
Not a whale but decent:
A peaceful feed is under way.
