Yesterday was a thundery day of plenty, after a slow start (leftover whale on nest) and some horrible aggression, Goliath on David. I think Fergus's suggestion is perfect (notwithstanding the pronounced genders) until the official names are decided on.
Having slept thru a lot of it, please see CC's summary (link to follow).
However, I thought that the "mystery bird" could do with demonstrating prominently, as a number of us have missed previous IDs.
Male and female cuckoo - he seems to be modifying his call with "pop-ups", and she is the "bubbler":
Here is the thunder that didn't bring on a storm, thank goodness; then Goliath exercising her maturing voice and then enjoying a couple of poops:
EDIT - And this is the male cuckoo with echo-cackle - is that him or another bird?

EJ has taken off for a flyaround.
And quick as a snap, she is back.

What a let-down! She disappeared at this point, not even a mini-EJ in the sky:
Return was better:
Then she put herself on sentry duty - it must be a warm, dry night :-)
I swear you hadn't posted snaps when I did mine :-/ Oh well...
Goliath is up, thinking about a poop - and did one but it was sonic only.
Dear little David staying out of trouble:
I think I'll go back to #1 and #2.
EJ did a tour of the chicks and resumed watch:
#1 didn't stay up long:
Male cuckoo @ 0320hr, just after EJ had a stretch.
Now the female :-) One trill. Now the male doing his pop-up call.
