THANKS, MIKE!! I will watch tonight LATE tonight. Would be wonderful to see any part of a ringing.
Too late now for a guessing contest as to sex. I've no idea whatsoever, but that never stops me from guessing "when".
The family at LG enjoying a bit of morning sunshine. Odin is clutching a fish, but no one is giving it any attention.

They prefer Armani underpants to line their nest.

I tried to stay up to see what I could see, but just couldn't make it. They have already posted brilliant pictures on the Main Blog and Facebook, which I have shared to my own Facebook timeline.
WILLOW, what do you think!?? You now have an osprey named for you. :) The first thing I noticed is that they are not named for places this year. And for the first time ever I can say the names without instruction. Yes I think I like these names.
Can you imagine! KEITH ROGERS actually had the cheekiness to try to start an argument right out in public over on Facebook!
Keith, you already know full well that to me these chicks will always be known as Willow and Rowan and not the band letters.
OK you also know that I enjoy our long standing argument, so you are forgiven. :)
Glad you have some time at home. Wish I could meet you at Loch Garten as other Gabbers have in the past, then I could watch with your expertise as guide. So enjoy for the two us and get some good pictures of Willow and Rowan to post on Gabfest.
Not an argument - just a comment.
I am not fond of naming wild creatures but understand the reasons and accept.
In preference the names given in the past to the DOP chicks are better as they have a local meaning around the area of the nest as in the past LG have done. However I am pleased our friend 58Willow may now have a favourite osprey :).
To me a name is a name, whether it is A sensible actual name or letters on a band. Either way a wild creature has been given a name by man.
AGREED I do like the local place or national names for the chicks, also like the custom of having a local school class choose the name. I like this year's names but on the negative side, to this American, Rowan and Willow is a bit too reminiscent of the old comedy show of "Rowan and Martin".
The only decent piece of news on BBC Scotland today.
