HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Last week's Chat thread is here.
I left a long reply on the end of last week's thread. I've got a nasty deadline this week for my project, so you all won't hear from me for a few days. I hope everyone has a great week! Eastern BluebirdLabelled Public Domain (Copyright Free)

Love the baby Goldies, Yas.
Brilliant sunshine here, so a pleasure to pop round the shops - more people smiling! Off to visit Friend this afternoon, may take Bonnie with me to play with her Miniature Schnauzer. Will see whether it's too hot, first.
My OH has just come in with an armful of rhubarb, not from his patch but given to him by a friend. Already preparing it for the freezer but also having rhubarb & custard tonight!
hi Heather so glad to hear your daughter is coming home, bet she can't wait, have they given her something for the inflamation, l had IBS onice every morning in pain rushing for the loo, after a years seem so go can't remember when, but in the last years has come back a bit, but don't get every day. You have had you share of troubles. take care yas
Thank you, YAS. Yes, she takes several medications, anti inflam tablets, also tablets to protect her stomach from the side effects of the anti inflams, tablets for the IBS.
The only thing that has come to mind heather, l remember my neighbour onice coming to my home in bad pain, said her ribs hurt so much told her husband to use spare room, l said you can't go on like that, so could drive then took her to doctors and found she had inflamation in her ribs back and gave her antibolics did the trick. so lets hope the same for your daughter, being back at home can also be a great healer. l expect with her lBS she looked into her diet, l don't have too much dairy, find l'm better with almond milk on my cereal, and l'm better with sheeps cheese, and also spelt bread, and rolls because spelt is easier to digest and also doesn't have the chemicals on it that normal wheat flour does. l still have milk in say quice ect just not in large amounts at a time. all the best from yas
Heather – pleased Daughter is getting home, despite ongoing problems. Costochondritis sounds very painful – anything around the ribs hurts with every breath (I can remember having intercostal neuralgia, and wouldn’t want it again!) I know IBS is often a symptom of underlying conditions things, but equally doctors know that too, and are very quick to order tests if necessary. And I am sure you know all that from your nursing experience, so don’t get too worried about her – they are all different!
Yas – sorry – “getting hosed down” is an expression we all picked up from Annette – meaning we had showers (no time before man came); I meant both OH and I – we have two shower rooms! Those baby birds are so cute, but they look more like Siskins, or (depending on size) maybe Greenfinches going by the deep coloured eyes – definitely not Goldfinches!
Linda – have a good visit with Friend, and I hope the dogs have a good time too – maybe Bonnie will get rid of some of her excess energy! We have eaten and also frozen lots of Rhubarb; it’s doing really well again, partly because OH keeps it well watered.
We wandered around our own garden after lunch and were pleased with what we saw! Of course, a garden is always a “work in progress” (we have a list), but it is looking neat and tidy, with veg growing and flowers blooming.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Your so right OG did l say gold finches, getting my finches mixed up could happen to anyone!!! l have goldfinch but no babies yet. yas it's the thought that counts.
Just spent an hour in the garden - too hot for more. OH excavated a new edge where the lawn and violets had met and intertwined. I sorted a couple of pots - one dead Heuchera and one over-exuberant French Tarragon - then swept all the back paths. I also "damped down" the greenhouse floor so the evaporation will cool it down. A rest now, then ready to tackle the Romans. I sometimes get bored with them, but they were so active around here, and a few recent archaeological excavations have been revealing new information and details.
OG - I don't suppose that we ever stop worrying, really! She has had lots of scans and tests in the past. The hospital staff were fantastic, she says. She is also very worried about her OH's job etc which won't be helping things.
Enjoy your talk at the museum - we'll maybe hear about it, later.
LINDY - hope that you and Bonnie enjoyed the visit to your friend.
I've just finished changing bed linen and trying out my new vacuum cleaner which arrived this afternoon, earlier than expected!
The weather didn't improve here, today. OH went out to the garden but apart from cleaning a bit of the greenhouse, didn't achieve much. We'll do it together, some day.
ANNETTE - hope you are OK? Hopefully just busy.
EVERYONE - take care, may be back later.
HEATHER - I am sure the worry about your SiL's job will be aggravating your Daughter's various inflammations - I think stress adds to most conditions of that sort. Pleased the new vac arrived early, so you are all clean and sparkling for the weekend. Sorry about your weather, obviously more changeable than here this week. We are hoping to get good weather down south (well, East Midlands) later this month, and rain here at home to reduce demands on J keeping the garden watered!
