Hi everyone,
Well its been a day of exercising, fish bringing, and generally ospreys being ospreys. The weather could be a bit better though. Very windy again and it did rain yesterday, more in the evening than daytime.
The young ones keep getting up for a stretch and a mouch, but generally are keeping low because of the wind. EJ is probably in her tree.
Happy viewing and see you in the morning. Night, night.

jsb, thank you for those stats. I hope you don't mind if somebody copies them to another (Finnish) site?
That wind doesn't sound too promising... AQ, please send some calmer weather to LG, ASAP LOL
And morning to all!

The sound of the wind is picking up. It was calmer at day break . They decided not to ring the chicks at LOTL so not to disturb the Lady and now Mother Nature may prevent the ringing of the LG chick(s) .
If the winds keeps up no one can climb a 60 foot ladder and safely bring the chicks down for ringing. It would be a disaster if the climbers were blown off the ladder and the climber and the chicks were injured
Every year it is something.

auntie: Copying OK, the ringing version is ready, I shall post when data is made available by LG.

He he he! I think you'll find that's 'walkabout'! Traditional Aborigines were/are in the habit of moving to follow the seasons and food, as well as making journeys to special places for ceremonies, etc.this all seemed very strange to white settlers, who suddenly noticed that they had gone, and said that they had 'gone walkabout.'. Of course, oit was all perfectly natural to the aborigines, who could just up and go with no need for preparation, and come back when the time was right. ;-)
Smiles, Jan.
A bright day with variable cloud and sunnier breaks, the best of these in the east. A few showers will occur during the day, mainly confined to western parts around the Cairngorm Plateau and Ben Lawers area. More significantly though, there will also be some severe buffeting across the summits, leading to some treacherous conditions with the risk of losing one's footing, in the gale to storm for winds.

Thanks Jan. Walkabouts !! If the juveniles go begging for food at other nests I guess it would be " flyabouts" LOL
The wind is sounding vicious and the bird's feathers are being blown around .
Morning, All. Have spent 10 minutes trying to get the webcam to come up on the screen... boo hoo...
-no stills cam either. Wonder if its me?
I can't get the web cam now either. Maybe the wind took it down.
