Hi folks, hope you enjoyed the revalries (not sure of the spelling)and relaxed in America. Hi to our Finnish and Australian friends and anyone whom I have missed out.
Its been a very windy day at LG with I think 5 fish delivered in total. EJ had a job to stay on the nest at times and during the course of the day we found her huddled next to her young ospreys trying to keep them dry and sheltered from the wind. Of course they are too big for that and at times she was the one trying to get under them. She is off the nest at the time being and our youngsters are staying tight on the nest in a huddle. Do hope the wind dies down by morning so that they can be ringed and blinged and soon we shall know their names.
If it stays too windy they will try another day, but hopefully sometime this week.
Happy viewing and night, night.

I just love when they stretch their wings like this

She is still shouting, hoping Odin will come in with a fish.
EJ seems to have got fed up with calling and has gone on a flyabout. Back she comes with a clump of moss, the youngs ones were following her in. Proceeds to some housework. A woman's work is never done.
She starts shouting again and right on que the young ones or at least two of them get up, start preening and await dad. The other one is watching sitting down.

Hello auntie how is your Mum doing.
I watched earlier when the largest was having a good old wing flap, only trouble was it was smacking one of it's siblings round the head.
EJ has been calling for quite a while now for Odin to deliver I wonder if she will go and catch one herself. A little less windy now so might be a bit easier for fishing.

Sounds like Odin chirruping in the background ... I hope its not that intruder back again.

Hi everyone. Many Thanks for all the updates, pics, etc since I was last here. Great stuff as always. Took me ages to write the opening of this post. Don't worry! I mean it's nothing serious; just that I was engrossed in the battle between EJ calling and the sound of the wind. I'm cheering for EJ. GO ON, EJ! GET STUFFED NASTY WIND! Anyway, I can hear another Osprey calling so EJ's got back-up. THAT'S YOU SNOOKERED NOW, WIND!Alan: Thanks for the info on the wind. I really hope it dissapears soon.Lynette: Glad you liked my picture. Don't know if they do but I think LG could raise a fair amount through selling greetings cards, based on the Ospreys. Love the pic of EJ waiting for Odin to bring fish.DjoanS: That's a brilliant picture of EJ with her brood. A lovely image.auntie: Fantastic wing-stretch pic! :-)
Paul.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Not sure what the bird chirping in the background is. It might be a Great Tit but I'm sure it's some type of tit species anyway.
EJ left the nest perhaps she has got fed up with waiting for Odin and gone to fish herself.
