EJ is having a funny moment. Chicks tucked under her.
Happy watching, back in the morning.

RSPB Giving Nature a Home
Morning Auntie - and Hi Wattle, Emma and AQ. I can't remember last year's chicks being as "nice" to each other as this trio. Or does it get a bit more competitive later on?
Anyway, I'm totally wiped out today, so am closing up shop and heading for bed with a book. Looking forward to catching up on Odin's next fish of the day (let's hope he grabs some before EJ et al get their talons on it). Night all.
Annette I think you are right about how civil they are to each other this year . I think Garten was already bullying Mallachie at this stage last year.

Fish delivery
my photos in flickr
Odin just delivered another fish. He ate the head and front part. EJ reluctantly took it after 2 of the chicks decided they could shove a bit more into their crops LOL
Plus it is raining so fishing may be difficult later on
EJ just quickly gathered the chicks under her to keep them dry
Odin checking the fortifications. EJ feeding chicks. Odin flies off. Plinking noises and EJ settles on the fat little bundles. Well, she is trying to. LOL
Oh dear, are those hailstones?
It is pouring and poor EJ is in what looks like a very uncomfortable position to keep the chicks dry
Here is that fish
And EJ sheltering their offspring from rain/hailstones
EJ valiantly keeping the chicks dry in heavy rain. At least there is a large chunk of the second fish left for later:
On the positive side the hail stones are little ice balls so the fish is on ice to keep it fresh :)
