Thought I'd start a separate thread for the posting of news, updates, pictures etc. from the nest at the Loch of the Lowes. Now that the first chick has hatched at Loch Garten the Daily Update page is going to get too unwieldy if it is used for news from LotL as well as LG, and the "News From Other Nests" is getting pretty full as well.
EJ has not left ,. Sandra. Cirrus reported earlier on the LG blog that she arrived with a huge fish and a GEM followed her in and took possession after she landed. He then flew off with it and EJ went on her way too.
Notice its very wet and ENS here the same as LG
Will catch up later as have to go out.

Good morning Sandra and i feel just the same. Hoping against hope that we will see the youngsters and the Laird again before they leave us. This was a really emotional season for Loch of the Lowes with all the trauma of Lady's illness which remains a mystery. Wishing her well all the time and hope she is missing the bad weather and can make good progress on what may be her final migration. Two very healthy chicks thanks to the Laird, things could have been so different if he had not stepped in and fed them while Lady was so ill. In my mind I can still see Lady laying on the nest unable to see or move, really broke my heart but then an amazing thing happened and she started to recover and eventually felt strong enough to leave on migration. I would like to see Lady come back next year but we will have to wait now and see if she will turn up again.
Hope you have a good morning at the market.

Just looking in again. It looks a lot drier but windy. Still ENS
Empty nest. I am heartbroken! :-(
I am now going to sit out the back garden in the sun and do some sewing.
If nothing goes right, go left! :-)
Hi Sandra it is so sad to look at that empty nest now. Can't see any mention the Laird or chicks so far today. Have they finally left I wonder.
Still ENS and quite breezy but dry
No sightings from LOTL cameras today - but they think the Laird is still about .
At Loch Garten today saw Odin on the nest about lunchtime then saw a youngster after 4 pm calling.
Love to see one of the LOTL youngsters before they go - if they haven't already.
What a treat to it has been to watch.
take care
regards to all
Hello Lofty I keep having a look in and hoping to see the Laird or the youngsters but I have not been lucky at all today. I did see the Laird in a tree yesterday though. All looks a bit desolate on the nest now.
Sandra: Hi there - feel so bad for you. :-( You've been so attached to these birds, do wish I could cheer you up somehow! I shall watch a bit tonight - very dark both at LOTL and LG - but have had really exhausting day. Do join us on the Weekly Chat if you get lonesome - we all keep in touch there during the winter months. It's very friendly. Hugs to you!
Mr. Crow is making his morning visit to nest.
