Thought I'd start a separate thread for the posting of news, updates, pictures etc. from the nest at the Loch of the Lowes. Now that the first chick has hatched at Loch Garten the Daily Update page is going to get too unwieldy if it is used for news from LotL as well as LG, and the "News From Other Nests" is getting pretty full as well.
Evening/morning all: Can't seem to get a picture right now - just a green screen. Same on LG. Maybe it's me. I'll sign off and restart the computer.
Still no cam.
Well, I think the technical problem was mine - restarted the computer and now see two chicks on the nest. One is on the right and is mantling; the other is on the left and is calling. Not sure what the mantling chick is protecting; seems to have settled down a bit and now I'm pretty certain it has a fish. Actually, I'm wondering if both chicks have all or part of a fish. Falling asleep folks; gotta turn in now. Take care.
Good morning.
6:40 and one chick has a fish, not sure which one it is yet.
If nothing goes right, go left! :-)
I think the first pic was chick 1 with a fish.
This is chick 2 at 8:30.

Good morning Heron 77 and how I agree with your comments re Lady. I will never forget the awful morning i logged in to find the saddest thing I have witnessed. It is truly wonderful that she recovered and found herself such a good partner in the Laird. There are many pictures in my mind at his tenderness in feeding the chicks while she was so ill. Then of course the pictures of her down in the Loch on her first flight after her illness and her contuining recovery. We know she is not as strong as she should be but we can only hope she will migrate safely and prepare ourselves for the fact that we might not see her again. At the moment as you say it is a bonus everyday we see her and I smile too.

Good morning Sandra an thanks for your pics. was so happy to read that chick 2 had a fish all of it's own last night . On the diary they say chick 1 caught a pinecomb and stick when he was seen in the Loch yesterday afternoon so is honing his skills for fishing eventually.
Hi Margo.
Twp precious pics for you! :-)
Chick 2 at 2:30.
Hi Sandra and they are gorgeous, thanks so much. I am feeling so happy for the younger one to day as he/she got to have another fish all on its own.
Margo.
Perhapes its instincts for grabbing fish as soon as it comes in, is kicking in now. :-)
