Thought I'd start a separate thread for the posting of news, updates, pictures etc. from the nest at the Loch of the Lowes. Now that the first chick has hatched at Loch Garten the Daily Update page is going to get too unwieldy if it is used for news from LotL as well as LG, and the "News From Other Nests" is getting pretty full as well.
3rd update to 19th June Blog at LotL - this time by Peter (who I think is Centre Manager). He's putting it down to Marge's advanced age. He seems very hopeful that the male will keep the chicks going until they can feed themselves by tearing up the fish he brings them.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
She has just made a huge effort to raise herself, but is unable.
The Laird is feeding the chicks again ... good to see.

It's so sad to see Lady Marge struggling. I had a look for a few minutes but can't watch any more. If Lady doesn't pull through I wan't to remember her as a great osprey and efficient bird of prey. I suppose this is just nature in its rawest form. I'm so glad to read that the Laird has been feeding the chicks.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Just come here to say that, DoanS - one of them even pecked tentatively at the fish, so perhaps they will soon be able to feed themselves. Thunder in the background.
nice to see male feeding chicks now
Thank Goodness there are only two - maybe he will be able to cope with two.
Back again, and switched on to find Laird feeding the chicks again. Great encouragement on that score. Those chicks are trying to get it from him as he tears it off.

RSPB Giving Nature a Home
Nature is so brutal. One of the chicks is sitting across Lady's back as it is being fed.
