Thought I'd start a separate thread for the posting of news, updates, pictures etc. from the nest at the Loch of the Lowes. Now that the first chick has hatched at Loch Garten the Daily Update page is going to get too unwieldy if it is used for news from LotL as well as LG, and the "News From Other Nests" is getting pretty full as well.
Yet another fish delivered:
He really is being a fantastic partner now. Do you know how many fish today Sandy. He seems to be managing 5 per day easily.
Catching up with the news of the day - Lady is now feeding chicks and they look adorable in the evening sunlight. A change from the soggy conditions of this morning.

I use MWSnap to take the captures off the live streaming cams and I make sure I save them in JPEG format.
If you want to upload them to be included in your post you click the right hand icon in the bar above the script box. This then gives access to your pictures and you simply select the one you want to include. It sounds complicated but is quite simple really.
As regards number of fish I'm not exactly sure but there have been plenty. He favours pike and apparently caught the last one right by the nest. The numbers of pike in the Loch must be dwindling rapidly. She's still got the remains of the last one on the nest and regularly feeds it to the chicks.

I take screen shots from the live videos using only the keyboard and Microsoft software which was supplied with the computer, which includes Office:
1. While viewing the live video, hit the "Print Screen" button on the keyboard.
2. Open MS Office Picture Manager, and Paste in the screenshot - which at this stage is of the whole screen.
3. Rename the file as something appropriate, Crop it to take out everything except the picture and Save it.
4. Start your post in the LGO forum and click on the "film" icon to include the picture.
5. The picture will be in bitmap or .bmp format which works within RSPB Forum threads, but not in some other places - the Gallery seems to require .jpg format. However I have just discovered you can use the Microsoft Paint tool to convert .bmp files to .jpg
Hope this helps..........
Lvely closeups of the chicks and mum brooding at the moment at LOTL
LG looks peaceful too

Thanks Sandy and Sue, I'll see what a novice like can come up with. As I said before I havecaptured super pics and videos on the two programes I mentioned.
Late supper at LotL.Both chicks feeding really well. Little one seemed to smell fish first and although very sleepy was first up to be fed :)
