Looking at the site at Rutland Water. Female having a turn of the eggs and now settling down again. Lovely and calm there as it is here in Northants.
Would be nice to do a diary for the MantonBay (Rutland) as update on other nests now takes ages to get to the end and update.
Do they have names for these two at MantonBay. Please note I have changed the name to Manton Bay (Rutland) nest updates as a suggestion from Sandy. Hope this meets with everyones approval.

Another feed at Manton Bay:
not been on for a few days , following LOTL although I have had the live webcam on from Manton.
Fantastic pictures everyone, they are now enjoying the early evening sun. What a glorious day its been.
Her's a pic of the scene at Manton Bay on Sunday from Shallow Water hide. 5R is on his usual perch on the fallen tree and the unringed female is on the nest with the chicks:
Thanks Sandy. Its good to see a 'real' picture rather than one taken from a screenshot.

Alan: I think it helps to give some perspective to the scene, although from this angle it makes it look like they are much close together than they really are (tree and nest that is). I'll try to put one on from Waderscrape hide to show that (I've had to call in ACAS to resolve the dispute between my laptop and camera, at least both parties are talking now!).
EDIT: I can't because I didn't take one as it wouldn't fit in the frame! Here's one of both of them in the fallen tree instead:
Alan and Sandy, Just curious, what is the "stately home" that you often see in the background, in photos of Manton Bay? I can't work out from maps, where it is.
Hi Sue. It's called Burley House (not to be confused with its more famous near namesake in Lincolnshire) and is large so appears closer than it really is!
Just for you, Sue:
Just looked in and those youngsters, home alone, but aren't they growing. The eldest has got its pin feathers coming through and the other two are progressing well.
The male just landed right at the edge of the nest with a fish. Bess is now feeding the chicks who awoke and have gone over to mum for food.
