Looking at the site at Rutland Water. Female having a turn of the eggs and now settling down again. Lovely and calm there as it is here in Northants.
Would be nice to do a diary for the MantonBay (Rutland) as update on other nests now takes ages to get to the end and update.
Do they have names for these two at MantonBay. Please note I have changed the name to Manton Bay (Rutland) nest updates as a suggestion from Sandy. Hope this meets with everyones approval.

All three chicks scattered on the nest and home alone at present.
That is such a lovely picture Sandy. Those chicks are growing well too.
Margobird
#1 at Manton Bay is huge:
Peaceful scene in the evening sunlight at Manton Bay:
Looked in earlier and "Bess" was off the nest with a huge fish left by the male.
She is now back on and is feeding the chicks .
All the chicks look stuffed full of fish:
Spent about 2 hours at the Lyndon reserve this morning. Saw Mrs 5 R flying around quite a lot and taking a bath right in front of the Waderscrape hide. Can see the chicks heads from the hide now when they are being fed. 5 R took the remains of a fish from the nest and flew to a nearby poplar tree to have a meal. He then brought it back to the nest and MRs 5R fed the chicks again. Also saw a brown hare on the path to the hides and a reed bunting from the Waderscrape hide and from the Tufted Duck hide saw the 3 oystercatcher chicks. Its the first time that oystercatchers have bred on the Lyndon side of the reservoir. Also saw a beautiful heron on the way back not to mention a Greater Spotted Woodpecker,Grebes,Coots,Mallards,Cormorants and any amount of chicks. Oh and the 3 kestrel chicks are doing well.
Aftrnoon Alan you sound as though you have had a great morning. I am so envious that you are close enough to visit and see ospreys live/
You are right Margobird, I am lucky to live quite near Rutland Water and there is nothing like seeing them "live". On the webcam you cant really see them in flight and with that magnificent wingspan it is breathtaking.
This is exactly why I hope I will be accepted as a volunteer next year at LG. Although we are lucky to have the webcam I know you can't really get the perspective from it.
