Looking at the site at Rutland Water. Female having a turn of the eggs and now settling down again. Lovely and calm there as it is here in Northants.
Would be nice to do a diary for the MantonBay (Rutland) as update on other nests now takes ages to get to the end and update.
Do they have names for these two at MantonBay. Please note I have changed the name to Manton Bay (Rutland) nest updates as a suggestion from Sandy. Hope this meets with everyones approval.

Second hatching at Manton Bay!!
Great news Sandy. I was not expecting that until tomorrow. Good that they are so close together.
Tweeted earlier:
"2nd chick hatched in Manton Bay nest this morning. Hope to have streaming back online today, but great views on TV in Lyndon Centre."
Hi Alan, yes you could say I was pleasantly surprised when I caught the news this morning.
It makes me wonder whether the first egg was just a little late in hatching (rather than being the second egg) and that the third egg could well still hatch. I know that first-time couples usually only rear two, but that's because they normally only lay two. Time will tell.
That is good news Sandy, thanks for info. Lets hope "Bess" gets the hang of feeding these chicks and that all goes well for her and the family.
Latest tweet from Rutland ospreys:
"Our two Manton Bay chicks featured in 'Nature Notes' in today's Daily Telegraph. Check the back page! "
Amazing news just tweeted:
"3rd chick just hatched in the Manton Bay nest!"
