Given the length of EJ's early-morning absence from the nest (best part of 3 hours), you'd think it safe to assume that she did get a fish before the cam recovered just before 0600hr - but MIKE checked in just as the cam came back up, to an empty nest and then Odin flew in. That seems strange - there should have been an exchange on the nest, but the circumstances Mike found are more indicative of EJ having flown for a break and Odin flying in to take over. Maybe she had gone fishing for herself, and that's why she didn't seriously scream for fish all day. I do hope that MOFFER gets a reply to her query eventually.
The dreaded Blue Darvic was on the scene again yesterday (that's blithely assuming he's the same chap who intruded last year)... but Odin dealt with him efficiently. Apart from that it was a lovely day, with both EJ and Odin presenting us with treats for the eyes and hearts on a bright sunny day.
No flyabouts or flaps yet tonight, just the usual alternating between sleeps (plenty) and watchfulnesses and egg-care:

Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
No fish supper for EJ tonight :-(
At least it's stopped raining. Good night all.
Good night Moffer and thank you for the reports today. One fish delivery and more moments of intrusion have clearly kept you occupied today! Odin is really doing a wonderful job of keeping would-be interlopers at bay. Long may it continue. The Blue Darvic today and unringed on other days should check out Blue XD's old nest.

Goodnight, MOFFER - thanks for all your coverage today :-)
Thanks Moffer for all your posts and pics and unending dedication to EJ and Odin, and to everyone else too that makes the DU what it is. Just caught up now.
Hope that tomorrow brings good weather, fish and NO pesky intruders, let them go find or build their own nests LOL....
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
Just now EJ had a good stretch and flyaround - but now we think there's a disturbance but can't tell what it is.
Into the black she flew:
Landed on the right side:
She's sitting head-up with her back to us now.
