I think I will start MAY, 2016 quite simply with a current snippet of the LOCH GARTEN NEST with EJ quietly incubating her three eggs.
I have just made a discovery of interest to me. Osprey have build a nest in Columbus, Ohio near a TV news cam. She has laid 3 eggs, Of course the question is can they hatch and mature enough to migrate before bad weather sets in.

Columbus, our State Capitol, is roughly 100 miles from Cincinnati and about 90 minutes driving time. This is the closes osprey nest to me that I have heard of.
Evening June (actually early morning!) Your local ospreys! Lovely pics :)
I fear the other eggs of EJs may not hatch and could be unviable as she is now quite old. Ladyy last clutch only one hatched i hope i am wrong and the others do hatch. Its now late for the second egg. Fingers crossed for them!
Agreed, Willow. I hate to think of EJ as being old, but at age 19 she is up in years for an osprey. Even Oden is adding up the years. This I believe is his 8th year at LG nd we don't know how old he was when he arrived. Breaks my heart to say all that, but hiding from facts won't change them.
Nonetheless, I am still hoping for one or even two more chicks.
Yes, EJ is no longer young, but Lady was much older than EJ is now when her eggs first started to fail - - middle or late 20's, I think. Of course, Lady was an exceptional bird.
A misty morning at LG.
I think it was 2009 the last time all lady's eggs hatched but one of them died 3 days after hatch. After that it all went down hill. I estimate she could of been around 21 years in 2009 although we will never know.
Green J fertility also fell in latter years but was breeding in 2013 the last year she reared young albeit not a full brood at the age of 22 years. Roy has just posted recently she found a new home this year and a new young man at the age of 25 years.
So if a bird lives till almost 20 years it is probably inevitable that the fertility may drop off.
EJ was on TV (BBC Scotland) with her chick a few nights ago.
JUNE - Pleased you have found an osprey in OH.
It is not too late for the chicks to develop and migrate before the bad weather sets in.
Many first time breeders are in the same position.
Egg 6 and Egg 7 at Glaslyn 2015 were not laid until 18 May and 23 May and these turned out to be the migrating young on Septemeber 24 and 25.
We still have plenty of young in Scotland leaving well into October.
I needed to sign in, but could not. Until I remembered the join up button. I just clicked that, then signed in as usual, all was well.
Seems others on other threads are experiencing problems also.
It is almost 10:00 pm at LG and still daylight. It is not that light that late here in mid-summer. Dusk here by 9:30 at best.
Still no #2. I have given up on that chick and am starting to worry about #3.
