However did I manage to get in ahead of the lovely Annette and the excellent Diane to start this thread? Goodness only knows. Perhaps both ladies are all Trumped out!!
Have a good week, everyone - and special thoughts to Margo, her lovely hubby and Billie!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Sat in the garden this afternoon, but didn't drop off to sleep as I thought I might. Read some local papers, and then went indoors to attack the ironing pile. My OH suddenly came in and said "Quickly! -- there's a Robin in the conservatory!"
He shut all the doors to keep Bonnie out of the way, then flung open the double doors to the garden: only one had been open and the bird must have come in that way. At first he tried to guide the Robin towards the opening, but it flapped in panic. I said "You need to grab it!" He reached, and grabbed! The poor tiny thing looked so small in his large hands! He walked to the open doorway and opened his palms. For a few seconds the Robin seemed frozen, then off it flew! Happy Ending!
Hope Dibnlib had a pleasant time dolphin hunting! Brenda - thank you for news of Margo, glad she is much improved. I hope you and your daughter can have a fun, relaxed time looking for the wedding dress. I think you're right, September is not all that far away really, so the more you can plan and do now, the less to panic over later! OG - You posted whilst I was posting the above (watching Gardeners World at the same time....). Great that you're having such a nice time away - I hope you took some pics to show us later! (Edit - hope the weather stays fine for you!)
OG so loved my visit the the Kelpies in October only 4 of us on the tour. Still love my photos taken from inside just a wonderful work of art. The steel was so soft to the touch.
Walked for coffee today ... Home to Aberlour just over 10 mikes ... Left knee complaint tonight.
Driving to Inverness to the ballet tomorrow hope it eases up.
Lindybird - thanks for that info. Glad you enjoyed your trip. As always once mobile - inquisitive and into everything. Cute pics.
AQ - hope that knee flare up quickly eases for you, must be painful.
Keith - what a fantastic opportunity to follow these creatures - hope you have many hours watching them and do try and post us some pics.
Brenda - thanks for informing us about Margo - so pleased to hear that she is feeling a little better. Also do hope you manage to sort a day for looking at wedding dresses.
Annette - do have a lovely time with dau, rabbit and dog on their brief visit. Hope you managed to get all the items you wanted.
Weather has been glorious down here again. Looks fair set for the weekend too or jus maybe their might be the odd thunderstorm. Have a great weekend - all.

RSPB Giving Nature a Home
Evening all: Daughter stopped by for an hour or so en route home so fed her and sent her off with groceries; she was very tired. Sunday is Mothers' Day here, but we've decided to celebrate it after the fact so she can rest up for a few days.
OG: Your day sounds really interesting and relaxing and seems like tomorrow will be just a nice, with good weather too. I've stopped being surprised by whatever critters emerge from daughter's car. She stopped at a motel last night where they allowed dogs, but not rabbits, so she pretended the bunny was a cat. It was in a carrier, but really, the mind boggles... Where's the wine.....?
KeithG: Cats are much smarter about picking their fights than dogs (as well as some humans I know).
Lindybird: I suppose the danger of not catching the robin would have been for it to keeping bashing itself against the windows - happy ending indeed. Isn't it interesting how these encounters and little "saves" with wildlife are so rewarding?
Yoga last Monday and two visits to the gym this week, so easing back into a routine.
Have a good Saturday all.
Good Morning All, and Happy Weekend. Looks like fine weather and even some hot temperatures, later on in UK.
Nice that you were able to fuel up your daughter on her way home, Annette. A rabbit can't be seen as much different from a cat, when in a carrier! We were pleased to have a good outcome for the Robin, and it does make you feel good, being able to help: I've put several very large bumblebees out of the window, too, lately.
Good Morning Everyone. Another dry and very warm morning, but rather more cloud than we have seen lately.
AQ, I do hope that your knee pain is easing.
Linda, Loved your photographs of Matthew. I guess he is keeping his parents on alert as he explores now.
Annette, A flying visit from your daughter. She must have been so pleased to be able to eat with you and collect the shopping you provided for her.
OG, So good to see that you are having such an enjoyable break. Hope the good weather continues for you.
I didn't go shopping yesterday. so need to go this morning. Don't feel very enthusiastic about it though.
KEITH you are so lucky as I believe Hedgehogs are in decline. We certainly haven't see a live one in years. Years ago our first Goldie used to pick them up very gently, although of course they didn't know he wasn't going to harm them. We weren't too happy though when he bought us a baby. We just had to make him drop it and hope Mum would find it.
OG Glad you are having a good time. Mum lives not too far from Linlithgow so when visiting we always used to enjoy walks round the Loch.
We go down to Livingston next Sun and out to Amsterdam on the Mon, back Thurs, too short methinks
Had to laugh when a near neighbour posted a pic of her Lab with a notice round her neck. It said I HAVE JUST EATEN 12 DONUTS........THEN I ATE THE BOX TOO!!!!
