However did I manage to get in ahead of the lovely Annette and the excellent Diane to start this thread? Goodness only knows. Perhaps both ladies are all Trumped out!!
Have a good week, everyone - and special thoughts to Margo, her lovely hubby and Billie!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
For anyone following the Dyfi nest I'm sure you'll be thrilled to know that Clarach, hatched in 2013, has returned to Wales! She landed on the Glaslyn nest, much to Mrs G's surprise.
Goodness, Clare!! Great to know that more ospreys are returning.
Lovely to hear from you, Margo, and pleased that you managed to get out with your OH for a steak dinner.
Yes, we did manage to relax whilst away; we feel different as soon as we arrive as we get into a holiday mindset, and it's all so peaceful there. My OH felt a little "off" for a couple of days, and has been rather quiet of late (which is difficult to tell, as he says very little, anyway!) so I 've been jollying him along.
OG, I wouldn't like to be around you at the moment !! I can understand why you feel so annoyed though. Hope they have sorted things out before they ring back this afternoon.
Margo, Pleased to see you have posted and are now feeling the benefit of your transfusion. You can definitely eat out again this week.
Heather, Good and uncertain news for your daughter and her OH. Everything crossed that he survives the next redundancy announcement. Hope your brother has a safe and good journey home. Enjoy having your friends to stay. A rather hectic time for you recently.
Good for you Margo. I'm sure the trip out was a big 'lift' for you both.
Birdies LG DU update.
Morning all:
Lindybird: Thanks for Builder's Tea explanation. My Mom didn't like strong tea and neither do I. Someone used to describe hers as "not weak, but helpless." Gosh - I seem to have spent much of my life "jollying people along." :-) It must be a British thing.
Brenda: Don't you have an upstairs window to keep tabs on the construction? (We're not nosey, just "concerned"). :-)
OG: Good luck getting hospital sorted.
Margo: Oh good - a meal out and a glass of wine. Do it again! Had to laugh at predictive text which offered your sympathy for missing my duster. :-)) Thanks for the smile!
Heather: Oh dear, these family visits can be upsetting. Sounds like still more anxiety re SiL's job. What a pain. How many Danes - just two right? How long are they staying?
Clare: Good to hear things are humming along at Glaslyn. What are Clarach's options re a nest of her own?
Off to start the day. Take care all.
Yes, Annette, I do watch the builders from our bedroom window, but it is sometimes difficult to fathom out where they will be working for the main part of the day and if there is a wind, which will blow dirt from the site onto my washing. I have managed to hang the bedding out today, as they are away from our house. Actually saw a couple, who were looking to buy one of the houses, off plan. There are no proper foundations laid yet.
There is a shortage of male ospreys in Wales.
Annette lol don't think a duster would be missed, more like avoided for as long as possible.

I havn't had time to comment on OG's annoyance at the inconsistency of Hospital Appointments, nor on Heathers guests (you do seem to have quite a few, do you charge much per night, LOL!! ?) Only joking -glad you enjoyed your brothers stay and that he has at least got a car to use. I wouldn't worry if I were you, other people's finances always seem to resolve themselves, it seems to me! {just not my own...... augh!}
Hope that by now OG has been blasting people on the phone and sorted it out......
Right, been away for a cuppa, and to get the nicely dry laundry off the line. Hope that Brenda got hers done OK today.
I got some more of my pics sorted out, so before I go off again to organise dinner, here are a few we took when we were in Wales three weeks ago. It was very wet then, but we managed a nice walk next to Llanberis Lake.
A contented individual, he was preening nicely before I snapped this: then he went to sleep!
We found a very damp wood to walk in, which sis -in-law had told us about: It had been raining, but this was obviously a place which is always damp & mossy.
I noticed this tree branch, and my OH agreed that it looked like a malevolent stag!!
Creepy! Bet some children were scared if they noticed it.... and there were lots of little streams and tiny waterfalls:
This one had had a wet spaniel paddling in it just before I clicked the shutter.....
There was quite a bit of birdsong, and even though there were not any leaves on the trees, I found it hard to see who was singing: I did wish my ID of birds was better!!
