A new month and lots to look forward to as we eagerly await these precious eggs which Maya and Blue 33(11) have devotedly protected, hatch!
For anyone new and just starting to watch the Rutland Manton Bay Webcam, here is a brief summary of the 2016 season so far:
The resident female, Maya returned 21 March. Her mate Blue 33(11) returned 27 March. Maya has laid three eggs, #1 on 4 April, #2 on 7 April and #3 on 10 April. Maya and 33(11) are currently sharing incubating duties and we should see a hatch around the second week in May.
Happy viewing
As I looked in there was a feed in progress with 33 still on the nest. He has now flown and the feed continues. Unable to see detail as Maya has her back to us and only one chick visible.
Birdies LG DU update.
Chicks now in the centre of the nest. One has its back to Maya as if full up whilst the other two are being equally fed.
33 arrives with what looks like a Pike. Maya backs off the chicks, takes it and starts another feed. All three up for it.

For some reason she has returned to the earlier fish and is now feeding that to the chicks?
Feed over and chicks being brooded again.
Another feed in progress and all very orderly.

That wasn't a long visit
Hi and thanks everyone for all the updates.
What a super informative blog from Kayleigh (thanks Mike) - they really do look like little dinosaurs just now.
