A new month and lots to look forward to as we eagerly await these precious eggs which Maya and Blue 33(11) have devotedly protected, hatch!
For anyone new and just starting to watch the Rutland Manton Bay Webcam, here is a brief summary of the 2016 season so far:
The resident female, Maya returned 21 March. Her mate Blue 33(11) returned 27 March. Maya has laid three eggs, #1 on 4 April, #2 on 7 April and #3 on 10 April. Maya and 33(11) are currently sharing incubating duties and we should see a hatch around the second week in May.
Happy viewing
33 has flown, hopefully fishing as chicks are up looking for fish
Few minutes later, 33 returns and his talons are empty :-(
33 is wet - failed attempt?

33 has taken off again .. Maya remains standing on the nest waiting along with the chicks. Hopefully he will be successful and return with a fish soon.
What a lively bunch these chicks are!
One of them has just crawled out the cup up towards Maya's feet

33 just popped in but no fish
FISH
Fish
it is a good size, Maya takes it and starts feeding the chicks who appear hungry
Looks like a whole one Chicks eager ONe is out of the cup
They are all getting some but the chick at the far side is getting the lion's share
