A new month and lots to look forward to as we eagerly await these precious eggs which Maya and Blue 33(11) have devotedly protected, hatch!
For anyone new and just starting to watch the Rutland Manton Bay Webcam, here is a brief summary of the 2016 season so far:
The resident female, Maya returned 21 March. Her mate Blue 33(11) returned 27 March. Maya has laid three eggs, #1 on 4 April, #2 on 7 April and #3 on 10 April. Maya and 33(11) are currently sharing incubating duties and we should see a hatch around the second week in May.
Happy viewing
Thanks Karen and NOC, I feel he would like to but Maya is quick to step in.
33 has just flown with the "old" fish, second attempt.
Feed in progress. Maya making sure each one gets his/her fair share.
Birdies LG DU update.
Maya settled to brood. Two decent sized portions of fish on the nest with her.
33 stands guard over three sleeping chicks while Maya has a break.
She has landed twice and taken off again, her last visit she looked wet so I think she has been away enjoying a bath:-)

Maya as just taken another short break ... perhaps stiff and needs a good stretch or a shake to dry off.
She has enjoyed a good preen in the sunshine while the chicks slept and then covered them only to be disturbed with 33 returning with a large stick .....
She faces him as if to shout "what is that?" LOL
My cam froze but next view they were both gone . perhaps maya chased 33 LOL
Cam zoomed in - chicks alone
Maya returns and chicks up. maya pulls some moss around them as if tucking them in .... awww
She is now standing on the nes ,preening
Must go out now SYL
Maya feeding one chick again. The others are not bothered, probably full up.
Maya happy to let chicks just know she is there, two fish still on the right side.
