A new month and lots to look forward to as we eagerly await these precious eggs which Maya and Blue 33(11) have devotedly protected, hatch!
For anyone new and just starting to watch the Rutland Manton Bay Webcam, here is a brief summary of the 2016 season so far:
The resident female, Maya returned 21 March. Her mate Blue 33(11) returned 27 March. Maya has laid three eggs, #1 on 4 April, #2 on 7 April and #3 on 10 April. Maya and 33(11) are currently sharing incubating duties and we should see a hatch around the second week in May.
Happy viewing
Morning Scylla, Mary, Noc, Patily and all
Mary - thanks for the early captures.
Noc- we now have the answer to your question about an egg hatching at night as EJ's has :-)))
Watching Maya 33 just now and I think there are signs that hatching is starting/started here !
Maya has just returned and picked up the fish piece and flown off ..
She has returned and eating at the side of the nest!

maya finishes, and changes over, Best view I can get
She is on the eggs, wiggling.
IMO - Maya is displaying hatching behaviour
I was convinced I saw a pipping yesterday afternoon but it must have been wishful thinking, as it would have been out by now.
Maya has had another couple of checks .. she is not rising high.
Hi Jane ... so hard to tell:-)
But from her behaviour now, I do think it is happening now and we will see a bobblehead today:-)
Morning all
She is certainly wiggling and moving around, so again , we wait CHOL:):)
It's a shame we can't hear the nest. It would be so easier to know when it's hatching.
EDIT: I'm not complaining at all about the webcam, it's just a consideration after hearing the hatchling noises at Loch Garten last night!
Tiger's Osprey News
Hi Kate .. It has certainly kept us waiting:-)
At this rate we could see all three hatch on the one day :-D
33 has brought in a stick and is now destroying the nest.
