A new month and lots to look forward to as we eagerly await these precious eggs which Maya and Blue 33(11) have devotedly protected, hatch!
For anyone new and just starting to watch the Rutland Manton Bay Webcam, here is a brief summary of the 2016 season so far:
The resident female, Maya returned 21 March. Her mate Blue 33(11) returned 27 March. Maya has laid three eggs, #1 on 4 April, #2 on 7 April and #3 on 10 April. Maya and 33(11) are currently sharing incubating duties and we should see a hatch around the second week in May.
Happy viewing
I'm off for lunch. 33 is sleeping on the eggs, so we won't see anything untill Maya wakes him up (she should learn the 'stick method' from Glesni!)

Enjoy Noc .. I'm watching for the next hour while I bake:-)
Maya has returned. I think she has been away having a bath. 33 flew off as she landed and she quickly checked the eggs and has settled down to incubate.
Maya has just checked the eggs. She kept very close to the eggs so no view but she got her head down too as if to listen.
Maya now enjoying the sunshine and having a preen
I'm back. I'm starting to think that today we won't see the first chick hatching...
Again she rises and checks and no view of the eggs. She did not appear to listen and no signs yet of her "talking" to the chick so I don't think anything is happening just now.
Well this is a new one! 33 is back and where he is standing we can only see him on the Wide Angle cam

He wasn't even on the nest! Must have been on the tray or a stick poking out from it. He has flown as I type
Hi Noc - doesn't look like it just now but it could anytime. I am still hoping for today as I have to go out tomorrow and Saturday :-D
About 25 minutes later .. another check of the eggs.
She settles and I am wondering if she is listening (or my wishful thinking)
Maya is up and standing back off the eggs just now enjoying a preen. Hopefully we will get a view - No, she has settled back on the eggs.
thanks for the updates. I'm thinking them both being very unsettled on the eggs is a good sign. they must be hearing/be aware of something :)
