A new month and lots to look forward to as we eagerly await these precious eggs which Maya and Blue 33(11) have devotedly protected, hatch!
For anyone new and just starting to watch the Rutland Manton Bay Webcam, here is a brief summary of the 2016 season so far:
The resident female, Maya returned 21 March. Her mate Blue 33(11) returned 27 March. Maya has laid three eggs, #1 on 4 April, #2 on 7 April and #3 on 10 April. Maya and 33(11) are currently sharing incubating duties and we should see a hatch around the second week in May.
Happy viewing
Morning all. We'll get rain in the afternoon here, so it's moving...
Tiger's Osprey News
Morning Noc
Checking the nest and not much change from earlier just looking a little more damp.
Morning Karen.
Well, if someone hatches today, it will not be seen :-/
Cam down :-( I have found in the past that this usually happens when there is any cam movement especially if they zoom in!
Hopefully it will be back up soon.
Edit: 11:32 - cam back up.
I am working in the garden today so watching from a distance and looking in from time to time. SYL
I should be online most of the time, Karen, though working... I'll shout if something happens. Hope you are not too far away. ;-)
Nothing is happening here. Just a wet osprey incubating 3 (presumably warm) eggs.
Maya returns and 33 does not argue , and soon gets off the eggs, no doubt thoroughly fed up with
feeling soggy.

Thank you SunnyKate2. I went for lunch and at my return everything looks like nothing has moved. I wouldn't have noticed there's a different osprey on eggs. :-/
Hunkered down protecting the eggs.
Thanks everyone for all the updates and captures. A thoroughly miserable day and very wet ospreys. I can only admire their devotion as they endure all weather to protect those eggs.
So I've just checked the forecast and I'm afraid this rain is on for the day! The only consolation is that It should get a bit lighter around 7pm.
Here are the forecasts for the next few days
Today:
Wednesday - the 11th and 37th day. A few spells of light rain but looking better
Thursday the 12th - glorious and its dry from this day onwards. Perfect for a hatch and the preferred day for a couple of us :-D
