Weekly Chat (Non-Osprey), 3 April 2016

HAPPY NEW WEEK!

Last week's Chat thread is here. Check back, because there were a lot of new, long posts at the end of the thread.

Everyone have a wonderful week!

  • The sun has come out whilst I've been eating breakfast, and clearing up the bits from the floor of a magazine which Bonnie has destroyed. She still does this when she gets the chance.

My OH is glad he mowed the lawn yesterday, as it rained again last night so all is wet underfoot.

We had a short visit from the family member who had a baby girl recently -  I got to have a cuddle, but the babe slept on throughout and apparently is ' an angel' so will be no trouble. Aaaah!

  • Good Morning Everyone. Raining here.

Annette, I guess Lightning is not happy that you have removed any of her personal smell from the carpet.
    Love your humming bird photographs

Linda, Sorry about the building plans. We fought for two year about the land next door, which escalated towards the end. The part I found annoying was that the the people who shouted the most, never even wrote to the planning Dept, didn't attend any meetings and didn't contribute to the cost of employing the professional expertise, which was vital to us and resulted in our winning so much.

I need to do some food shopping this morning, which I should have done yesterday!

  • Good morning, cold and damp here today.

Youngest family have gone to get a haircut, they will return for lunch. We had a happy evening, best of all was that we had fish and chips from the chip shop. Crispy batter and really moist haddock. No cooking for me:-)

Had a surprise phone call from our German friends yesterday. They were wondering if we were coming over on the next Town Twinning visit. I had to say 'no' since my OH is no longer Treasurer. We used to be involved in a lot of things but have given up everything except OHs Probus Club. It was all getting a bit silly. Our time was not our own.

  • Which German town are you twinned with, Heather?  Felixstowe is also twinned with a town in Germany (Wesel).

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • CLARE- Augsburg in Bavaria. Also twinned with two French towns, La Baule in Brittany and St Valery en Caux in Normandy.

  • ANNETTE   love your humming bird pics.

Slightly worried at the mo as Benson dived on a grape I dropped on the floor and it appears they are not good for dogs. I am telling myself not to be silly as we always used to give the Goldies grapes with no ill effects, but of course they were much bigger than he is.

  • Still cold here. I can't remember ever having the central heating on in April.

  • DIBNLIB - I don't know much about dogs, but I know that you will check online and get advice if necessary x

Agree, we have heating on, also.

  • Dibnlib, Yes, grapes can be lethal for dogs, but I don't think that one grape will harm Benson.

  • OG - After the demise of the Kenwood mixer, my food processor is also misbehaving. They say that things happen in threes. Oven, Kenwood, Food processor. Did I say on here that I bought a very luxurious hand mixer last week? £9.99 in one of the German supermarkets:-)
