HAPPY NEW WEEK!

Last week's Chat thread is here. Check back, because there were a lot of new, long posts at the end of the thread.

Everyone have a wonderful week!

  • Good morning

the sun is shining here today, took the dog for a lovely walk, the ground wasn't too bad, I had half expected to return with a very muddy dog. Love it when I manage to get out early, which is rare if its a work day, then I will do the later walk, which isn't bad as I get to see the Barn Owl.

Annette, OH and I had talked about a revamp of the kitchen to brighten it up for a long time, so when a few tiles cracked that spurred OH into action. We have added 2 extra cabinets, I can never have enough storage space.

I aim to have a good cleaning blitz now before the hair appointment @ 15.30.

I must check on all of the Ospreys and hope that Aran has ventured back to Mrs G.

Have a good day everyone, bye for now.

  • How lovely to see the Barn Owl when you're out with the dog, Tina.  We have some Little Owls around here, but they are getting scarecer.

The plumber is just leaving - he thought it would only take him half an hour to put in the new part to the boiler, but he's been here for two hours....  At least we should have no problems with it now.  I think he had to take it all to bits to get at the part he needed, instead of just popping something in.... very technical explanation from me!

  • We've had some sunshine and its feeling more springlike.  We're going to do some actual gardening this afternoon:  I bought a plant when in Wales so it must go into the border, and things need tidying up.

Here is what greeted us when we returned from our Abroad trip last month:

  • Hello all -

TINA- The only time I get to see and hear owls is when visiting my brother in Brittany. You are so lucky.

LINDY - I hope the plumber's hourly rate is reasonable or your OH will have a hairy fit!

Also hoping that OG and EE are having a great lunch at the OTB. Delayed birthday celebration plus manager's last day. Should be very special.

ANNETTE - I can sense how much you are looking forward to your sister's visit. Changing closets is a very good way of clearing out unwanted items of clothing. Our spare room wardrobe was full of things that had migrated there. Plus,

one wall of our own bedroom is taken up by three double fitted wardrobes, all with shelves above the hanging rail. All were full plus one has a double rail, upper and lower.  Outdoor jackets and coats have their own cupboards downstairs. Far too much stuff for the kind of life that we two lead these days.

  • Hi Everyone. We have spent some time working in the garden, although I have been checking on the nests and re-registering on the Dyfi new site.

Tina, Well done to your OH, re your new kitchen. We have owls in the woods, but although we can hear them we very rarely see them.

Linda, Pleased to see that your boiler is repaired and your OH is happy. Lovely photographs.

Heather, I have warned my children that the clothes that they have hanging in a couple of wardrobes will be going the charity shop if they don't quickly decide if they want them or not. They have never lived in this house, but I do seem to be accumulating some of their clothes. OH and myself also need to check what we are hoarding.

Annette, Your home is going to be spotless for your visitors. You must be so excited.

  • Lindy, beautiful photos, I must get to the garden centre over the weekend so I can plant up some pots. I bet its a relief the boiler is repaired.

Brenda, Heather, it is  a lovely sight, I just need to time my walks right, always from around 04.15pm onwards, if we are extremely lucky we see the Marsh Harrier that's if I walk along the river bank, which all depends on whether the cows are in the field, lovely creatures so long as i'm on the other side of the fence.

can I ask all you computer whizz's, how do I remove the '

edit tags' its driving me mad now! every time I try I lose what I have written down.

Off the hairdressers now to get my hair cut,I feel a mess, my hair desperately needs washing today but thought better of it to feel the benefit afterwards.

  • Morning all:  Had good sleep but kept dreaming about Sean Penn, who was helping me repot a ficus benjamina. Well, at my age, I guess that's all you can expect...

Lindybird: Lovely spring flowers and, like Heather, I hope the plumber's labor costs weren't a shock.

Heather:  I don't have that many clothes and nobody needs heavy jackets/winter togs here (sorry!), but my OH, who hates shopping, tends to buy half-a-dozen of this and that when he does go out and then wears tatty old shirts around the house so he's the closet hog here.

Brenda: Well, the house will be spotless when I leave Sunday; however, I won't be back (with family) for 10 days so Lord knows what it'll look like by then. :-)

Tina: Not sure what you can remove Edit Tags.  They are on all my posts but can't see them on anyone else's, so I assume they're there in case you have second, third, or even fourth thoughts about something  you've written.

Margo: Hope you're doing better and at least getting a chance to watch the nests.

Rained all night. Of course, with clean carpeting in the house!  Puss got her feet wiped on the doormat when she came back in this morning. Am going to spend the day cooking up meals for OH while I'm gone - a good day for that.

  • Sitting now with a well earned cuppa, after our efforts in the garden. I've planted, weeded and pruned. Then brushed the paths and tidied up. Bonnie decided to help us when we dug a big hole for a whole tubful of narcissus which we've enjoyed, but the woven tub is now disintigrating - I put them in the ground in the border where we'll be able to see them next year. But of course Bonnie must have thought "Thats something I can help with!" and promptly almost disappeared into the hole......lots of shouting ensued. Then, when all was finished, I found a label for the new plant I'd put in as well, on the back step - I'd forgotten that she's partial to labels!

  • Sitting reading about dear EJ and Odin guarding their precious egg, and at the same time watching the blackbirds here busy with beakfuls of worms.

  • Tina. Leave the ' Edit Tags'. You cannot remove it. It is literally only for you to edit your tags. We can all see it at the end of our individual posts. We can't see any other poster's ' Edit Tags.'  If you want to edit your posts, you just use the blue edit. Sorry it is driving you mad, but you will have to ignore it LOL
