HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Last week's Chat thread is here. Check back, because there were a lot of new, long posts at the end of the thread.
Everyone have a wonderful week!
Morning all:
Brenda: Your friends' experience after the ballet sounds awful - what an end to a lovely evening. Still, at least they caught the guy. Makes you wonder though...
Lindybird: My sister and BiL breathed the same sigh of relief over their ancient boiler when it started acting up last fall. Their plumber was also surprised that it was still functioning what with being so old. I bet my pile of ironing is bigger than yours. I've been washing everything in sight before my trip as well as items for the charity shop. I will wait for something good on television before I tackle it.
Heather: That kind of exciting (wrongly delivered mail) sounds appealing right now. I'll be interested to hear about kitchen plans. No ducks were harmed during Brenda's friend's op. When does SiL expect to hear about redundancies?
Carpets vacuumed and we've moved any furniture we can out of living room, etc., in preparation for carpet cleaner. It's amazing what hides behind large pieces of furniture. :-(
We are on track for some rain - in April yet!
Off to see what else needs to be done....
Good evening. Should have been cleaning day, but good weather meant we prioritised potato planting (in bags). Hope to sow peas tomorrow. I pottered outside while OH did the work! After lunch we went to the bank for an hour, then he cleaned the lounge while I made dinner, so maybe all scheduled HW will get completed in next couple of days. After dinner, did watering of plants under cover, and then had a brief shower of cold rain. Main thing tomorrow is lunch at OTB for Toni, the manager’s, final day. Were intending this anyway, but will now be substitute lunch for the one missed on my birthday!
Sorry about Brenda’s very poorly friends and wee/poo carpet saga – sounds like your OH is a good negotiator!
Can’t remember what else I have read well enough to make coherent replies! Also been watching interesting Osprey developments!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
OG- Enjoy your lunch at the OTB! Regarding housework, I heard this evening that youngest family will be staying here tomorrow night. Now will have to clear all clothes intended for charity shop - move them from spare bedroom to ? where. They have been sitting on the bed in that room for a shameful few weeks. Sometimes I need that kind of jolt to get me moving.
Margo hugs;-)
Everyone else hi:-)
Loads going on but for a later longer day..
EJ laid her first egg 8ish..
See she can be a good girl !!!
Good evening
what a miserable day we have had here in Cambridgeshire, it does seem to alter everyone's mood at work.
Annette, Heather, we had an old boiler replaced for a combi boiler which was moved from the kitchen to the airing cupboard upstairs. A few kitchen tiles were damaged in the process, so OH felt it was a good time to replace the tiles, kitchen work tops and kitchen sink/taps etc. OH has completed all the work himself and I have to say the finished result is looking great and like a new kitchen, plus much lighter.
He's an electrician so he's fitted new led lighting underneath the cupboards, all new fittings, so as I mentioned just waiting for the glass splash back, which we have had painted the same colour has the tiles, from a company in Dublin we were told about.
OH then informs me we shall start again decorating from upstairs,
we had a world map mural in Earth tone colours put on the length of the landing wall,(again another task for OH) its quite a talking point with everyone that gets to see it, we never did get around to decorating the bedrooms afterwards due to the boiler issues.
I am now off work tomorrow :-) so plan to catch up with housework after a nice long walk with Indie, then off the hairdressers late afternoon for a little pampering.
Evening all: Wow. What a day. Carpets cleaned along with sofa covers (washed), etc., etc., Now all furniture back in place and I've just finished a Giant pile of ironing and have plopped down to watch a special (NOVA) on The Vikings and how one scientist searches for settlements using the latest satellite technology.
OG: Have a good lunch; hope the departure of the manager won't affect the quality of future meals there.
Heather: We're playing musical closets tomorrow in preparation for family visit. Took stuff to charity shop yesterday. It's all go, isn't it? :-)
Tina: Gosh, just a few messed up tiles and you got an almost new kitchen. What a guy! I like the sound of the world map mural. I've always loved that photo image of the continents compiled of satellite images taken when no clouds blocked the view.
Plan to spend tomorrow cooking up some meals that I can freeze for OH to heat up while I'm off gadding about.
Have a good Friday everyone.
WENDY how good is that. Two more to go.
BRENDA so sad about your friends.
Good Morning, All. I posted last night but the whirly thingy just went around and my post never appeared :-(
Annette - hope you're managing to sit down some of the time, between all of this activity. How good your home is going to look!
OG - Enjoy your special lunch out today.
My OH brought in two large boxes of stuff from the garage, when the plumber came -- now I have to find the time to sort it out and down to only one box, as we have way too much stuff (Its mostly hoarded papers, cuttings and saved letters, etc)
