The purpose of this thread is to record observations, activity and captures of Rutland’s Manton Bay nest throughout the season.
The nest at Manton Bay has been in use since 2007 and its history can be found here.
I am sure I speak for us all in wishing Maya and Blue 33(11) a safe journey home and for another successful season at Manton Bay.
Maya arrived back around 11:10 empty taloned and once more just looks around. Something catching her eye now as she's mantling.

Settled now and flown.
Edit: She returned within a couple of minutes with a small piece of moss and once more settled enjoying a preen in the sunshine

Thank you, Karen
Maya has just brought in another large stick
and is now busying herself placing it!
I suppose they have to get them jammed in to keep everything secure
Intruder around . Maya mantling and just now lying low in the nest looking up
I did see a large dark coloured bird very close to the left of the nest but it was too quick to capture or ID
Good Morning Everyone
Maya on the nest when I took these snips @ 05.50 am, she has gone now.

Maya has just arrived with a huge fish.
Once again the poor thing is still alive as Maya tucks in
We have a visitor to MB, I take it is 5N(04) :-)
who is this - btw morning all
Not best of captures and not clear enough to ID ring.
Logging on I saw two birds pulling at a fish and one took off with it which I assume was Maya leaving the ringed bird on the nest who has now flown.
